Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram hosted the Scholar Badge Ceremony of Class XI (Sections D, E, F, M, N, O, P, Q, R, V, W, X) on 24th December 2014. The Scholar Badge Ceremony is the most awaited event as students receive acknowledgement for their academic and extra-curricular excellence.

The Chief Guest for the event was Professor B. P. Khandelwal, Member of the DPS Society and the DPS R.K. Puram Managing Committee. Also present were the Principal, Dr. D.R. Saini and Vice Principal, Mrs. Shobha Mehta.

The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and felicitation of the Chief Guest. A mesmerising composition of the ‘Raag Jog‘ was performed by the school orchestra . The Principal addressed the audience and welcomed the Chief Guest and parents of the awardees. A brief video highlighting Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram’s achievements in academics, extra-curriculars and sports was screened. A melodious rendition of the song ‘Mumkin Hai’ was delivered by the school choir. A scintillating dance performance celebrating the might of Lord Shiva by the Dance Club Members followed. A short inspirational movie clip was shown, emphasising the role of an individual in making the world a better place. Students of Class XI expressed their profound thoughts on the importance of education. Students of D.P.S. Shiksha Kendra showcased Meera Bai’s devotion for Lord Krishna through a vibrant dance performance.

The Chief Guest addressed the students and shared his views on the importance of expressing one’s individuality.

The representative of class XI, Ms. Alinda Holla conducted the much awaited award distribution with Professor B. P. Khandelwal, Dr. D.R Saini and Ms. Shobha Mehta presenting the awards. The Pranthik Roy Memorial Gold Medal was awarded to Abhishek Anand of Class XI-H for being the most outstanding student of Class X by Mr. Palash Roy Chowdhury. Meritorious students were awarded blue ties, blue badges and blue blazers for continuous academic excellence. Gold medals, red ties and red blazers were awarded to students excelling in extra-curricular activities such as sports, music and dance.

Vice Principal, Ms. Shobha Mehta, delivered the vote of thanks. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
