The Class VIII Scholar Badge Ceremony for the academic year of 2023-2024 was hosted by Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram on the 17th of December, 2024 in the Audio-Visual Hall (AVH) to celebrate the academic excellence and holistic achievements of the students.
The ceremony was commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the distinguished Chief Guest Dr. Joseph Emmanuel, Chief Executive and Secretary of CISCE, the Principal, Mr Anil Kumar; the Vice Principals: Mr Naresh Miglani and Mr Anil Kathuria; and the Headmistresses, Ms. Rashmi Malhotra and Dr. Anubha Gopal. A soul stirring performance by the Indian Choir set a spiritual and harmonious tone for the ceremony. The musical performance was like a blessing from God and seemed to bring a sense of peace and joy to all present. A short movie, highlighting the school’s achievements, events organised, and the accolades and scholarship received by the students, was presented. This was followed by a vibrant dance performance. The students filled the stage with energy and traditional spirit, presenting a delightful folk dance, Dandiya, which left the audience mesmerised.
With this, the highly anticipated scholar badge distribution ceremony began. It was conducted by the Class Representatives of Class VIII, Ms Ekta Arora and Ms Sakshi Malik. Students were felicitated with awards and certificates as a token of recognition for their meritorious performance in scholastics as well as co-scholastic activities over the past year. A total of 193 Blue Blazers, 6 Green Badges (1st) and 13 Green Badges (2nd), 3 red ties, 20 sports pins, 10 co curricular pins, 6 Gold Medals for 100% attendance and 9 certificates were awarded . The proud smiles of the recipients was a reflection of their dedication and the unwavering support of their parents and teachers.
The Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar, addressed the audience and extolled the students’ exceptional calibre and attributes. He praised their commitment to self growth and determination to achieve their goal. He stressed on the significance of maintaining high standards and pursuing excellence.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Joseph Emmanuel,Chief Executive and Secretary of CISCE, applauded the efforts and achievements of the recipients and acknowledged DPS RK Puram’s rich legacy of over 50 years in promoting excellence in curricular as well as co curricular fields. He recognized the institution’s long-standing commitment to quality education and stressed upon the need to recognise education as a valuable investment with tremendous potential for future growth.He concluded his address by sharing a profound philosophical perspective on how individual righteousness can progressively lead to world peace – starting from the heart, extending to character, home, nation and ultimately, the world.
Dr. Anubha Gopal, Headmistress of Classes VI-VIII, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing her gratitude to the Chief Guest Dr. Joseph Emmanuel, for taking out the time to grace the occasion, the Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar for his unstinted support, the Vice Principals: Mr. Naresh Miglani, Mr. Mukesh Kumar and Mr. Anil Kathuria for their valuable guidance. She also appreciated the students, teachers and support staff for contributing towards making the event a grand success.
The rendition of the National Anthem marked the conclusion of the event.
