SCHOLAR BADGE CEREMONY –  CLASS IX (2025-2026)

The Annual Scholar Badge Ceremony for Class IX was hosted by Delhi Public School R.K. Puram on 27 August 2025 in the Audio-Visual Hall. It honoured the exceptional scholastic and co-curricular achievements of the students for the academic year 2024-25. 

The Chief Guest for the Scholar Badge Ceremony was Major General P.R. Murli (Managing Director, Army Welfare Education Society), and the Guest of Honour was Colonel Pradeep Kumar (Director-Coordination, Scholarship, Legal and Finance at the Headquarters of the Army Welfare Education Society). The event began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Major General P.R. Murli, the Guest of Honour, Colonel Pradeep Kumar, along with the Principal, Mr Anil Kumar; Vice Principals – Mr Naresh Miglani, Mr Anil Kathuria and Mr Mukesh Kumar and the Headmistresses, Ms Rashmi Malhotra and Dr Anubha Gopal.

This was followed by a cultural programme which commenced with a melodious performance by the Western Choir with their rendition of ‘Sing to the World’. The song, marked by its vibrant harmony and uplifting message, created an atmosphere of inspiration and joy. Thereafter, a short film was showcased highlighting the achievements of the students during the academic year 2024-2025, along with the events organised during the year. It was followed by a mesmerising Spanish dance – ‘Paso Doble’ which paid tribute to the courage, strength and pride of the cultural history of Spain. 

In his address, the Principal, Mr Anil Kumar, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed dignitaries and expressed deep gratitude for their gracious presence. He thanked the audience for their presence and commended the students for their outstanding achievements. He highlighted the importance of hard work and diligence and reaffirmed the institution’s resolve to nurture the young minds in their quest for excellence in both academic and co-curricular areas.

It was followed by the much-awaited Award Distribution Ceremony, which was conducted by the Class Representatives of Class IX, Ms Payal Sachdeva and Mr Sanchit Chauhan. Students were honoured with awards, medals and certificates in recognition of their excellence in both scholastic and co-scholastic fields. A total of 176 Blue Badges, 19 Blue Blazers, 7 Second Green Badges, 81 First Green Badges, 40 Sports Pins, 38 Co-curricular  Pins and 14 Gold Medals for 100% attendance were awarded. Thereafter, the Class XII Representative, Ms Sarika Kaushal, conducted the award ceremony for the toppers of Class XII who received Gold Medals for their outstanding academic performance in the AISSC Examination for the  academic year 2024-25. 

The Chief Guest, Major General P.R. Murli, a distinguished Army officer and educationist, addressed the gathering, reminding all that ‘everyone has some strength within them’. He highlighted the need to let children grow freely and emphasised the value of creativity. His speech left an indelible mark on the audience, instilling a sense of responsibility in the young achievers.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by the Headmistress of Classes IX-X, Ms Rashmi Malhotra, who acknowledged the power of education and its importance in children’s lives. She expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Major General P.R. Murli and the Guest of Honour, Colonel Pradeep Kumar, for their gracious presence; to the Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar, for his visionary leadership; and to the Vice Principals for their constant guidance. She also acknowledged the efforts of the teachers, parents, support staff and especially the students, whose dedication made the event a memorable success.

The ceremony concluded on a solemn and patriotic note with the rendition of the National Anthem, uniting the gathering in a shared spirit of pride and reverence for the nation.
