Python Workshop for CS and IP Teachers

Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram organised a One Day Up-Skilling Python Workshop for the Computer Science and Informatics Teachers of various schools on Tuesday, 25th June, 2019 in the light of new CBSE Curriculum of Computer Science and Informatics Practices. 260 Teachers from Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Dehradun, Sonipat, Agra, Bahadurgarh, Kuwait online registered for the workshop, out of which 225 Teachers participated in the same.

The Workshop started with an opening address by Ms. Vanita Sehgal, the Principal of DPS RK Puram. She emphasized on the need of learning new things and updating knowledge specially in the field of technology.

The Workshop Sessions were conducted by Mr. Mukesh Kumar, alongwith illustrations by Mr. Mohitendra Dey, where they covered topics of Python, NumPy, Pandas, MatPlotLib, MySQL and Django broadly, in accordance to CBSE syllabus(2019-2020), alongwith sample working examples. The sessions were interactive, where the participants actively participated in questions and answers. Ms. Gurpreet Kaur, Mr. Naveen Gupta, Mr. Raj Kumar, Mr. Bir Bikram Ally and Mr. Yogesh Kumar also actively contributed their expertise in the field during Q & A sessions with the help of simple and interesting examples. During the workshop, the similarities and the differences between Python and C++ languages were also discussed for minimizing the gap in understanding the concepts.

Each session of the workshop was appreciated by all the participants and everyone thanked the great initiative taken by Ms. Vanita Sehgal, the Principal, DPS RK Puram and the efforts of the resource persons.

The programme would not have been possible without the support and efforts of DPS RKPuram Computer Science Teachers – Ms. Hema Jain, Ms. Sangeeta Rana, Ms. Shalini Harisukh and Mr. Ajitkumar KG alongwith the Tech Admin Staff – Mr. Thomas CA, Mr. Diny Mathew, Mr. K.V.Joseph and Mr. Shankar Giri.

The workshop ended with distribution of the Certificates by the Principal and group photographs of the participants.
