INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2024-2025

The Investiture Ceremony of Delhi Public School R.K. Puram was held with grandeur and solemnity on 12 November 2024, signifying a moment of pride and responsibility for the newly appointed student leaders. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp was auspiciously conducted by the Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar , the esteemed Chief Guest, Ms. Namita Pradhan The Vice Principals Mr Naresh  Miglani,Mr Anil Kathuria,Mr Mukesh Kumar , the Headmistresses Ms Rashmi Malhotra and Dr Anubha Gopal.

The event was gracefully ushered in by the Western Choir’s captivating mellifluous performance, followed by a skillfully crafted graceful Shadow Dance by the Performing Arts Society on the virtues of “Veni, Vidi, Vici” which signifies the virtue of “I came; I saw; I conquered”, a Latin phrase used to refer to a swift, conclusive victory. The shadow dancers transitioned flawlessly into another well synchronized  performance on the song ‘Scars to Your Beautiful’. 

In the address that followed, the Principal, Mr Anil Kumar, congratulated the students on being the torch bearers of the school’s ideals and motto “Service Before Self”. He also praised Ms. Namita Pradhan,highlighting her dedication and passion for the school, her responsibilities, and her commitment to the country. He acknowledged and appreciated her love and care for the children. He also referenced the Bhagavad Gita and encouraged the students to take on these responsibilities to the best of their abilities.


The Chief guest’s speech addressed the importance of inculcating values like team spirit and leadership in students at this stage. Being a former IAS officer herself, she imparted knowledge about the values critical in management, such as using one’s judgment to make the right call, humility, frankness, and forthrightness. She further emphasized that leadership is not everyone’s cup of tea as it comes with responsibilities. She concluded by highlighting the importance of roots, culture, and heritage in one’s life, further exemplifying the statement by quoting an example from her former days in the UN.

 Ms. Namita Pradhan administered the oath of office to the newly appointed members, charging them to prioritize service to the school and approach their responsibilities with selflessness, passion, and discipline.

The oath was followed by speeches from the newly elected student council.The council employed effective communication to tell their story to the path of leadership and underscore fundamental qualities that exemplify leadership.

The speeches by the council members emphasized key themes such as resilience, the power of mastering one’s mindset, taking charge of one’s future, and the unwavering pursuit of passion and perseverance. They further added that all of these values helped them in their journey of self discovery and paved their way to the stage they shared that day. The personal anecdotes shared in the speeches added a sense of authenticity and relatability, resonating deeply with the young and impressionable students in the audience.The Student Council appointments also took an oath to uphold the Delhi Public School RK Puram’s motto  of Service Before Self’ and  make both the school and the country proud.

The newly appointed head boy and head girl proposed the vote of thanks, expressing their gratitude to the principal and teachers for their guidance and for giving them the opportunity to stand proud and shine. They also pledged to live up to the expectations placed upon them.

The event came to a close after the reverent rendition of the national anthem

Wild Wisdom Global Challenge 2024

The DM-Geoquest Club by the Geography Department of Delhi Public School RK Puram in collaboration with WWF-India had conducted various rounds of Wild Wisdom Global Challenge 2024 under the guidance of Ms. Sangita Bajpai. The theme of the year is The Ultimate Scaly survivalist. 

The first round i.e, The Classroom Challenge Round was conducted for the members of DM-Geoquest club for the classes VI-IX  where 80 students had appeared for the written quiz on 30th August 2024. Top 30 students who qualified the classroom level appeared for School Challenge Round of Online Quiz conducted by WWF-India from 9th september to 11th september from which top two students qualified for the State Level Round of WWF-India.

Sara Dey of 9C and Khushi Vijay of 9J appeared for the State Level Round of Wild Wisdom Global Challenge 2024 on 3rd October 2024 at Kamani Auditorium.

The DM-Geoquest Club and Geography Department is proud of their phenomenal performance.

The overall coordinator of the Wild Wisdom Global Challenge 2024 was Ms. Mahima Goel.

“Photography as a Window to Wildlife Conservation”

A guest speaker programme

The DM GeoQuest Club of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram organized an enriching guest speaker programme on “Photography as a Window to Wildlife Conservation” on 18th October, 2024 for the students of the club from classes VI-XII respectively. The speaker for the session was Dr. Amit Sharma who is a renowned wildlife and abstract photographer and holds the position of a group leader in Structural Parasitology at International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, New Delhi.

The session was attended by our Vice-Principal Mr. Anil Kathuria, faculty members and Digex club  and was  convened by the Coordinator of the Department of Geography Ms. Sangita Bajpai and Club Incharge Ms. Mahima Goel respectively. The session aimed at providing the young cohort a perspective of looking at the subtle art of capturing the graceful acts of wildlife and appreciating the diversity of life which flourishes our planet Earth.

The session began with Dr. Amit Sharma’s thought provoking ideas on the  relationship wildlife has with humankind and why this precious diversity demands extraordinary efforts to protect them from the impact of climate change and loss of habitat . Dr. Amit orchestrated his snapshots of wildlife which he captured during his years of traveling the different geographies of India ranging from national parks to localized spaces of villages. He further emphasized on the subtle beauty and pattern of life which the animals exhibited through their acts of hunting a prey, camouflaging and emotionally touching moments. 

Concomitantly, he showcased videos on dangers of experiencing the wildlife and what caution one should make while paving for a career in wildlife photography that offers a way to sneak into the world of exploring species-habitat relationship.

As the session drew to its culmination, it empowered the audiences to be aware of wildlife conservation and protect the integral fabric that conjoins nature and humans. The session was concluded with a vote of thanks by the Vice-Principal Mr. Anil Kathuria and a token of appreciation to the esteemed speaker. In addition, the invaluable support of the faculty members of the Department of Geography Ms. Swati Uppal, Ms. Deeksha Gupta and Ms. Meera Raghav was given equal recognition. Overall, the session was a great success as it empowered the young generation to better understand our relationship with wildlife and ways to conserve their lives and habitats.

CBSE ZONE & NATIONAL JUDO CHAMPIONSHIP 2024

Bhavishya Tokas of Class XI won Gold medal in the CBSE Central Zone Judo championship held at Delhi Heritage School, Rohini , New Delhi from 28 September to 01 October 2024. 

Bhavishya Tokas also qualified for the CBSE Nationals. In the CBSE Nationals  he won a Gold medal at Saluja Gold International School, Giridih, Jharkhand. 

ALL INDIA IPSC SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP 2024 (GIRLS)

All India IPSC Swimming Championship 2024 was held at Rajkumar College, Raipur from 16 October to 18 October 2024. DPS, R.K. Puram won 5 Gold medals, 1 Silver and 3 Bronze medals. Tisha verma won best swimmer trophy in the Under 19 Girls category

ALL INDIA IPSC SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP 2024 

All India IPSC Swimming Championship 2024 was held at Birla Public School, Pilani (Rajasthan) from 25 October to 27 October 2024. DPS, R.K. Puram secured overall Third in the Championship and Second in Boys Under 17 category. 

Rakshit  Tokas of class IX was declared best swimmer in the Under 14 category boys.

DPS RK Puram won 10 Gold medals , 2 Silver medals and 21 Bronze medals. 

ALL INDIA IPSC BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP 2024 (Under 14/17/19 Boys)

All India IPSC Badminton Boys championship 2024 was held at B.K. Birla Centre for Education, Pune from 28th October to 30th October 2024. DPS, R.K. Puram was declared the Overall Champion in the Badminton championship. The Under 14 Boys team secured the Third position in the Championship Under 17 boys team secured  the Second position and the Under 19 boys team secured Second position in the championship.

TOPIC: “WORLD STUDENTS DAY”

 (Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Birthday)

World Student Day is celebrated annually on October 15th in honour of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of India and a renowned scientist. Dr. Kalam was deeply committed to inspiring and empowering students, believing that they were the future of the nation. His birthday was designated as World Student Day to recognize his dedication to education, innovation, and youth development. Dr. Kalam’s life and achievements continue to inspire students to dream big, work hard, and contribute to society with integrity and knowledge.

The students of classes VIII H and VIII I presented their class assembly on the topic- “WORLD STUDENTS DAY.” The Compering was efficiently handled by Aditya Apoorva, Parisa Malhotra, Amayra Valecha and Shanaya Gupta.The assembly commenced with a melodious prayer “Teri hai zameen tera Aasmaan” which was sung by Rabiya Saba, Aastha, Tamanna, Gauri, Aaditi Prasad, Kishteena, Piyush Ujjainwal, Chitrath Bajaj, Rudraksh Malik, Prithvi Madan, Ranbir Chaudhary, Agasthya Suri, Ainesh Kumar, Aariv Chauhan, Aarav Chopra, Mukul Prajapati, Kiara Bhandari, Kiara Chowdhary, Kiara Nagpal, Viraj Misra, Veda Chawla, Vidhi Sharma, Ishita Verma, Myrah Saini and Aditya Tiwari. Saraswati Vandana was presented by Noor Grover.

Next were Rishi Sabharwal, Radha Chaudhary, Ishita Verma and Ranya Singh sharing their insightful and thought-provoking “Thoughts for the day”. They truly inspired the audience with their wisdom and positivity. The news updates were given by Jai Nagrath, Aarav Kharkia, Raj and Reyansh Dular. The Skit was presented by Avyukt mittal, Veer Kapoor, Aaradhya Kirar, Dev Batra, Taksh Bharara, Samar, Avirath Nanchahal, Ayaan Kapur, Rajveer Budhraj, Rajveer Singh Gulati, Shaurya Basoya, Kiara Nagpal, Rishi Sabharwal, Shauryvir Singh Alag, Kiara Bhandari and Veda Chawla.

There was a soulful performance by the Western Choir on ‘HALL OF FAME ’ sung by Aniruddha Gupta, Antara Singh, Kiara Agarwal, Misha Suneja, Reyansh Dular, Rhythm Chopra, Sarvagya Aggarwal, Vedanshi Srivastava, Kiara Bhandari, Kiara Chowdhary, Kiara Nagpal, Veda Chawla, Viraj Misra, Daksh Rathore, Vidhi Sharma, Ishita Verma and Myrah Saini. Instruments were played by Adhiraj and Parisa. The stage came alive with a captivating dance performance by Gauri, Aaditi Prasad, Kishteena, Rabiya Saba, Tamanna, Shanaya Gupta, Amayra Valecha, Ranya Singh, Shiralli Solanki and Myrah Saini.

E-invite was made by Aniruddha Gupta. Folders were made by Rabiya, Kishteena and Ishita Verma. Cards were made by Jayssh, Aastha, Arjun Kumar Giri, Shaurya Basoya, Myrah Saini, Kiara Nagpal, Kiara Chowdhary and Anshika. The board was decorated by Gauri, Kishteena, Tamanna, Aaditi ,Rabiya, and Vidhi Sharma. Model rocket was made by Jayssh Bagga and the digital presentation was made by Aniruddha and Adhiraj.

Assembly VI-A (06-11-2024)

TOPIC: ‘THE GIFT OF FRIENDSHIP

‘True friends are a gift in both happiness and sorrow’. To celebrate the spirit of friendship, students of class VI A presented their Class Assembly on ‘The Gift of Friendship’. It began with an ardent prayer to the Lord by AADIRA, ADHIRAJ, DEVENDER, DEVID, MAYANK, NAVYA, PAVANI, PRINCE, RIDIT, RISHIT, RISHAB, SAKSHI, SASHWAT, SAMRIDDHI, SURAJ and VAISHNAVI. This was followed by News delivered by GAUURI, ISHANVI, MANI and SHIVANSH. Thoughts were presented in English, Hindi, Spanish and Sanskrit by ADITI, ARJUN CHATRATH, ISHANA and ZAINAB.

To carry forward the event, a thought-provoking Dramatic Verse highlighting the true meaning friendship was presented by ADHIRAJ, GURKIRAT, ANAYA, MIHIRA, ADVIKA, VAISHNAVI, JAKSH, RISHIK, HITESH, ARJUN GUPTA and ARJUN CHATRATH. Thereafter, a beautiful contemporary dance was presented by ANAYA, ADITI, ANUSHKA, AYUSH, HARSH, HARGUN, ISHANA, KANISHA, MAISHA and SAMAIRA.

To mark the end of the programme on a high note, a soulful rendition of the song ‘You’ve got a friend in me’ was presented by AADIRA, ADHIRAJ, ADVIKA, NAVYA, RISHIK, SASHWAT and VAIBHAVI.

The comperes of the programme were KANISHA and SASHWAT. The soft board, folders and invitation cards for the assembly were made by ANAYA, ZAINAB and KANISHA. The Digital presentation and E-invite was made by RISHIK.

Inter School Competition at New Era Public School

Commerce and Economics students of Classes XI and XII participated in the Inter-school event hosted by New Era Public School on 12th November 2024.

Participants were expected to transform the visual identity of an existing product by creating a catchy brand name and a witty tagline for the same while maintaining the existing brand heritage.

Inter-DPS IT Fest 2024

Members of “Roboknights “, “Digex” and “Exun” represented DPS R K Puram in the Inter -DPS IT Fest  2024” hosted by DPS Gautam Budh Nagar, Noida on 8 Nov 2024. Kyraan Katyal of class IX-K and Aarav Verma of class IX-L participated in “Gear Grind” and won the first position. Aryamann Ojha of class IX-N and Zonish Siddiqui  of class XI-L participated in “Drone Quests” and secured “Best obstacle Master” award. Sonam Lhadon of class XI-A and Reanna Batra of class IX-L  participated and bagged the second position  in the “Reel Craft”  event.

Holiday on Account of ‘Chhat Pooja’

Delhi Public School R.K Puram, East of Kailash and Vasant Vihar will remain closed on Thursday, 07 November, 2024 on account of ‘Chhat Pooja’ as declared by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi vide Notification No. F.53/711/GAD//CN/2024/1929-1971  dated 06.11.2024.
