In the words of Mathew Arnold, “Poetry is simply the most beautiful, impressive and widely effective mode of saying things.” In these trying times, poetry comes as a healing potion to reconcile us to our world and to allow us a measure of tenderness and grace with which to exist.
The English Department of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram organised a set of online and offline competitions for the students of Class XI. The online event ‘Lyrical Poesy’ was organised on June 12, 2020. The students were asked to choose one from four well-known poems to recite. The students participated with enthusiasm and infused life in those lines by their riveting voice modulation and verbal expressions. The judges evaluated the participants on the basis of clarity, overall presentation and expression.
The next event was the offline event- ‘Encasing with Patterns’. This event dealt with designing a cover for a lesson students have already covered in this class.
