A national level Writing workshop, ‘Katha Utsav 2016’ was organised by Katha from the 27th to the 29th January 2016. Angelina Dash of XI W, Prithvi Rana of XI I, Harshita Khatri of XI I, Aditya Pattanayak of XI M, Anurupa Dutta of XI D, Fatima Kashtwari of VIII K and Arunabh Roy of VII E participated in the three day long workshop.
On the first day the students were divided into groups and got to know their mentors; on the last day, the students had to submit an original piece of writing on the theme- ‘Breaking Stereotypes’.
On the second day, after an illustration session in the first half, there was a quiz organised on the Heritage and Culture of India. Three students from each participating school could compete. Twenty schools from all over India participated in this quiz, and DPS RK Puram’s team comprising Angelina Dash, Fatima Kashtwari and Arunabh Roy first qualified the preliminary written round and finally come third after four rounds of quizzing, including rapid fire, picture and anagram based questions, etc.
