The Inter DPS National Boys’ Football Tournament was inaugurated on 12 January with great enthusiasm and solemnity. The opening ceremony commenced with the arrival of Ms. Dolly Chanana, Joint Director of the DPS Society, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the hoisting of the flag. The Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar, addressed the gathering, underscoring the significance of teamwork, unity, and collective effort. He eloquently reflected on the idea that true success is achieved when individuals work together towards a shared objective. The ceremony continued with the players taking the oath, pledging to uphold fairness, integrity, and the spirit of the game. Puram participated in the tournament, showcasing remarkable skill and teamwork..
The event ended with the Closing Ceremony, marking the end of three days of intense matches and exemplary sportsmanship among DPS schools from across the country. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Ms. Dolly Chanana, Joint Director of the DPS Society, and Ms. Priya Punia, Player of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, who inspired and motivated the young athletes. Addressing the gathering, the Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar, reiterated the importance of teamwork, unity, discipline, and sportsmanship as essential attributes for achieving success both on and off the field. Ms. Priya Punia encouraged the players to continue striving for excellence and to remain resilient in the face of challenges, while Ms. Dolly Chanana appreciated the skills displayed by the participants and expressed her hope of witnessing unity and solidarity in future tournaments.
At the Prize Distribution Ceremony, DPS Bangalore South emerged as the winners , DPS Gurgaon Sector 45 were declared the First Runners-Up, and DPS Vasant Kunj along with DPS Bangalore East secured the position of Second Runners-Up. The Player of the Tournament award was conferred upon Nischal Natraj Gujran of DPS Bangalore South. The tournament concluded on a celebratory note, successfully instilling the values of discipline, unity, perseverance, and sportsmanship among the participating players.
