The Inter-Dps Basketball Tournament Boys(Open) zone 2 -2014 was hosted by DPS Bulandshahr from 31st October to 2nd November,2014. A total of 17 teams participated including DPS Mathura Road ,DPS Panipat and DPS Rohini.
With comfortable wins over DPS Noida and DPS Panipat Refinery,our team qualified for the quarter finals .In the quarter final, our team beat DPS Panipat City by 25 points,the score being 48-23. In the semi-finals, our match was against the host school DPS Bulandshahr, and again our team won the match quite comprehensively by 20 points, the score being 72-52.
In the finals ,our team faced DPS Mathura Road and as always the DPS Mathura Road players entered the court as favourites. Till the last minute it was very difficult to decide the winner.The final match was decided by two free throws and our team made history by defeating the defending champions, DPS Mathura Road by 1 point, the score being 62-61.
For the first time in the last 42 years, our Boys Basketball Team defeated DPS Mathura Road.
The Captain of our basketball team Surbhay Kumar was declared the best player of the tournament and our team qualified for Inter-Dps Basketball Nationals to be held at DPS Vasant Kunj in the month of December.
