Independence Day 2023

Delhi Public School R.K. Puram celebrated the 77th Independence Day on 15 August 2023. 

The event witnessed numerous forms of artistic renditions presented by the students and commemorated the nation’s independence along with the hoisting of the national flag by the principal. The vibrant attire of the students gave rise to a patriotic sentiment throughout the event. It acted as an expression of unity in diversity and promoted harmony.

The programme began with the unfurling of the tricolour by the principal, Ms Padma Srinivasan, along with the national anthem and followed by a self composed patriotic musical medley presented by the students of the Performing Arts Society which filled the audience with a sense of unity and pride towards the nation.

The musical medley was followed by an address by the principal, Ms. Padma Srinivasan, emphasising the crucial role played by the freedom fighters in making the nation what it is today. She influenced the students by giving great prominence to hard work and integrity in fulfilling dreams. She highlighted the contribution of the freedom fighters despite the hurdles. She reminded the students of the values of our society and how we should think as a community for the betterment of the nation. She also emphasised on the importance of sincerity, patriotism and brotherhood.

The Vice Principal Mr Naresh Miglani emphasised on small contributions made in our day to day lives which finally leads to a larger good. Mr Anil Kathuria reminded the students of the great sacrifices made by great men which serves as a source of inspiration for generations ahead.Mr Mukesh Kumar talked about values and strong moral fibre that they have grown up with which will take them way ahead in lives and they will make  not only our school but the country proud. As we celebrate the triumph of freedom, let’s remember to uphold the values that our nation stands for. Jai Hind!
