Delhi Public School R K Puram, organised a lively Freshers’ Night on 19th May 2026. The evening opened with the Principal , Mr. Anil Kumar, offering flowers at the feet of Goddess Saraswati and a beautiful recitation of a Sanskrit shloka,
“ॐ सह नाववतु, सह नौ भुनक्तु, सह वीर्यं करवावहै, तेजस्वि नावधीतमस्तु मा विद्विषावहै|”
“ May the Divine protect us all together. May He nourish us all together. May we all work together with great energy. May our study be brilliant and enlightening. May we never hold malice or hatred toward each other.”
This was followed by an Invocation Dance that set an uplifting tone for the event. The occasion was honoured by the presence of Principal Mr Anil Kumar, Vice Principals Mr Naresh Miglani and Mr Anil Kathuria; Headmistress, Dr Anubha Gopal, Academic Head of IBDP, Mr Ajay Goyal, the class representatives of class XI and X!! , and the wardens of both the boys’ and girls’ hostels.
The Girls’ Hostel captivated the audience with an energetic dance and a charming performance by the Western Choir, showcasing their impressive singing talents. The Boys’ Hostel responded with a well-coordinated dance, complemented by instrumental music and vocal performances. Together, these presentations beautifully highlighted the unity and diversity that thrive within both hostels.
In his address, Principal Mr Anil Kumar praised all the students for their outstanding performances and excellent teamwork. He warmly welcomed the new students, reminding them that their admission to this esteemed institution now allows them to carry the school’s proud name wherever they go. He encouraged them to remain focused, maintain a positive attitude, and uphold discipline throughout their academic journey. He concluded his speech with a hopeful message that the students would continue to strengthen and expand the proud legacy of Delhi Public School.
The evening concluded with the felicitation of the winners of the Girls’ Hostel Basketball Tournament and the Boys’ Hostel Premier League. A heartfelt vote of thanks was then delivered, marking the successful close of a wonderful celebration.
