DPS, RK Puram conducted a Guest Speaker Program for the Research Club on 30th January 2026, Friday.
Dr Tarunika Jain Agrawal, a professor in the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, who holds extensive experience in academic research and scholarly writings, facilitated the program as the guest speaker. The session covered the concept of ‘How to select a Research Question and How to do Literature Review’.
It began with a brief introduction of the speaker, followed by an overview of the importance of a literature review in academic research.
Thereafter, the speaker explained the concept of a literature review and emphasized its role in identifying research gaps, understanding existing work, and establishing the theoretical framework of a study. Various strategies for conducting an effective literature review were discussed, including selecting relevant sources, using academic databases, evaluating the credibility of research papers, and organizing reviewed literature systematically. The speaker also highlighted common mistakes made while writing literature reviews and provided practical tips on maintaining clarity, coherence, and proper citation. Students were introduced to tools and techniques for managing references and avoiding plagiarism. Real-world examples were shared to help students better understand the process.
The session was interactive and informative, with students participating actively and asking questions. The guest speaker addressed their queries patiently and offered valuable guidance for improving research writing skills.
