Guest Speaker for Sanskrit Students

A guest speaker programme was organized by the Sanskrit Department on 18th January 2017 for the students of Classes VII to X. The objective of this programme was to popularize Sanskrit among students and make it interesting.

The guest speakers were Dr Jyoti Raj and Mr. Sushil Kumar. Dr. Jyoti Raj, an alumnus of St. Stephen College is associated with DD News as a T V Anchor, News Reader, reporter and Editor. She is presently working in Sir Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College as an Assistant Professor.Mr. Sushil Kumar is a yoga expert is a teacher trainer with ‘Sanskrit Bharati’,an institution for promoting Sanskrit and Indian Culture.The Vice Principal Mrs. Anita Singh welcomed both the guests with plants.

This was interactive session .First, Dr Jyoti showed some visuals to the students and tested their concentration and focus through various stages of Questioning and relating them with Sanskrit The students took active part in the session and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Mr. Sushil Kumar emphasized on correct pronunciation and through interesting stories of Panchtantra, he threw light on Sanskrit Literature and the importance of Sanskrit in our lives.The Principal, Ms.Vanita Sehgal also attended the session and appreciated this interactive session.The session ended with a vote of thanks by the head of the Sanskrit Department, Mrs,Amla Thukral.
