Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram organizes student exchange programmes with schools in many countries. These exchanges enable students to broaden their horizons, improve their language skills and become global citizens with a better understanding and tolerance of other cultures.
The third exchange programme between Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram and Lycée St. Ambroise, Chambéry, France, took place from 25 October 2012 to 2 November 2012.
The group consisted of 21 French students accompanied by 3 teachers: Mr Pierre Guillot, Ms. Nadine Roux-Michollet and Ms. Albertine Michel. The guests stayed with Indian families and they spent more than a week discovering Indian food, family life and various other aspects of Indian culture. During the course of the week, the French delegates had a friendly football match against their Indian counter-parts , they attended classes in school and also visited several places in Delhi such as Lotus Temple, Iscon Temple, Red Fort, Humayun’s tomb, Gandhi Smriti, etc.
A cultural evening was organized on the eve of their departure during which the French and Indian students put up various cultural items to show-case the cultures of their respective countries. Later, the students also shared their experiences. The French delegates will be proceeding to Agra and Jaipur before returning to France.
