To provide a platform for children to explore their creative instincts during the lockdown, Delhi Public School R.K. Puram organised ‘Felicity 2020′ Intersection Multidisciplinary Online Competitions for the students of Classes IX and X from June 1- June 5, 2020 under the aegis of Headmistress Ms. Rashmi Malhotra and organising team- Ms. Surbhi Gupta, Ms. Sini Annie Abraham, Ms. Payal Sachdeva, Mr. Sanchit Chauhan, Ms. Deepika Parashri, Ms. Sanya Taneja, and Ms. Aakriti Mahajan. The technical support was provided by Mr. Mukesh Kumar HOD Computer Science, Ms. Sarika Kaushal and Mr. Thomas. Events were held for different subjects like English, Maths, Science, Social Sciences,Hindi, Sanskrit, Foreign Languages and Extra-Curricular Activities (Music, Dance and Art). It was a great opportunity for children to hone their skills and discover their talents through experiential learning during the summer break. E-Certificates were issued to achievers and participants.
The following events took place:
1st June(class IX-X)
Dance(Indian) CHUNAUTI- The participants were supposed to give a solo dance performance based on any Indian classical dance form.
Music(Western Instrumental) THE ART OF MUSIC- The participants could perform on any western musical instrument.
Dance(Western) CHALLENGE The participants were supposed to give a solo dance performance based on any western dance form.
Music(Indian Instrumental) SYMPHONY- The participants could perform any indian classical music.
2nd June(Class IX-X)
Music(western Vocal) RAISE YOUR VOICE- The participants were to give a solo performance on any western song.
Music(Indian Vocal) SWAR TARANG- The participants were to give a solo performance on any Indian song.
Art VISUAL POETRY The participants were supposed to make a painting. Topics were declared 15 minutes before the commencement of the competition.
Create out of wasteLETS UPCYCLE/RECYCLE: SHOW AND TELLStudents participating in this competition had to come up with an innovative idea regarding recycling or upcycling waste material and create a decorative or utilitarian item
3rd June(Class IX-X)
(Class IX) एकल अभिनय प्रतियोगिता– The students were supposed to give a solo enactment on the topic “कोरोना महामारी”
(Class X) मुहावरों का पिटारा- Every participant was to enact a story using any 6-8 idioms.
Sanskrit:सम्मिश्रिताः श्लोकाः (Jumbled Shlokas)(Class IX-X)- The participants were shown jumbled shlokas on the screen and they were supposed to identify, place it in proper order and recite in beautiful intonations in its original form without looking at the text.
French:PUBLICITÉ (Ad-Zap event)(Class IX-X) The participants were to prepare a short advertisement on any one topic and present it in front of the judges.
(Class IX) Erst eine Minute- Just a minute-The students were to speak for one minute on any of the topic that was given to them
(Class X) MEINE TRAUMWELT (My dream world)– Students had to present a self composed poem in German on the topics provided to them.
Spanish HISTORIAS Y CUENTOS (Story writing and telling)(Class IX-X) The student had to write a short story on their own and will present in front of the judges.
EnglishTheatrical Extravaganza DRAMATIC MONOLOGUE(Class IX-X) Each student had to take on the persona of any one of the given characters based on the topics from their course
4th June(Class IX-X)
Chemistry: RHAPSODY(slogan writing) (Class IX-X)– The students were supposed to write a slogan on the topics given to them
Physics(online event):SPILL THE INK (Class IX-X)- The students were supposed to write a self composed poem on the various topics given to them.
Physics(off-line event): EXPRESSIONS(Class IX-X)-The students were supposed to make a poster on the various topics given to them.
Biology: BIO-DIGITAL(Class IX-X)

Make an infographic with illustrations on ‘ The Coronavirus Pandemic’s Impact on the Environment’.
Fact sheet with illustrations on ‘Healthy food- Key to Mental and Physical strength’.
Flowchart on ‘Ways to tackle/combat Viral & Bacterial diseases.’
Mathematics:SYMPHONIES OF MATHEMATICS(Class IX-X)-The students could recite a self composed poem/ sing a song/frame a jingle based on different mathematical concepts
5th June(Class IX-X)
Economics: ECONOMIC ARTISTRY(Class IX-X)-The students were supposed to make a collage on the topic IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON THE INDIAN ECONOMY
(Class IX) GEO-O-MANIA- A debate Competition
Topic: “The Current Pandemic Covid 19 will have a lasting impact on the Environment”
(Class X) GeoQ- JUST A MINUTE COMPETITION- The participants were given 50 seconds to consolidate their thoughts on the topic given on the spot, after which they were to speak for one minute.
Class IX “TIME TRAVEL WITH CARTOONS” – The students were supposed to make a collage on the topic– Cartoons of French Revolution /Russian Revolution /Hitler.
Class X “EK BHARAT SHRESHTH BHARAT”- The students were supposed to make a poster on the topic Collective sense of belonging……..pride and love for your country.
Civics/Political Science: VOX POPULI- Just a Minute competition(class IX-X)-The participants could express their views on any of the Constitutional ideals/values like secularism, democracy, liberty, equality, justice, fraternity, unity and integrity of the nation.
