The 3rd Inter-School Entrepreneurship Fest ‘Enship 2019’ of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram was held on 10 August 2019. A total of 42 schools participated in the event. The event was co-ordinated by Ms. Anjana Virmani, the Teacher In-Charge of Enship, and Ms. Shalini Harisukh, the Coordinator.
The Enship fest included five competitions: Business Plan, Ad Making, Group Discussion, Quiz and a Surprise Event.
The Events and Judges
Business Plan enabled the young blossoming minds to present diverse and innovative ideas for a better India. It was judged by Mr. Manvinder Singh, Managing Director of Sapphire (India) Pvt. Ltd. and previous Enship Club presidents, Sharanya Verma and Shobhan Bhatia.
The Ad-Making competition evaluated the creativity and originality of the students by providing them with prompts on various current events. The judges, Anu Khandelwal, Sidharth Grover and Anshuman Das, indeed had a hard time judging the talented participants.
The Group Discussion facilitated intellectual and insightful conversation on topics ranging from provision of tax breaks to the Jet Airways crisis. Winners of the three group discussions participated in a final round which focussed on the impact of the Union Budget 2019 on start-ups. DPS RK Puram alumni, Karan Wali, Akshat Goel, Kartik Gupta, Agrima Gupta and Shreya Gupta, judged the event.
The Quiz assessed the entrepreneurial knowledge of the students through questions regarding start-ups, current business establishments and contracts, and technological advancements. The top seven teams made it to the second round. The event was judged by DPS RK Puram alumni, Kasvi Sansanwal and Jahnavi Sharma.
The Surprise Event comprised of two rounds. For the first round, the contestants had to solve three questions based on logic and a crossword which tested their ingenuity. The second round involved a Countdown Challenge and a One-Minute Stand Up in Hindi. The judges for the event were DPS RK Puram alumni, Vedika Virmani and Kartik Gupta.
The Closing Ceremony
The closing ceremony commenced with the inspirational song ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon, followed by a humorous skit by the Expressions Theatre Club. The two presidents of the Enship club, Aditya Batra and Tanish Goel, thanked the school faculty for giving them a platform to share the spirit of entrepreneurship.
The Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal, thanked the schools for their participation and fondly remembered how the Enship club came into being with the persistent efforts of the founders. She talked about the importance of encouraging students’ unique ideas which embodies the spirit of the school. She admired the striking talent of the students, reminiscing her own days at school and regretting the lack of entrepreneurship back then. She thanked the Enship club members and the teachers for their diligent effort in making the event a huge success. The Enship 2019 event concluded with the National Anthem.
