DPS RK Puram and SPACE India Host India’s Largest Star Gazing Event-Planet Parade2025

“The night sky is a reminder that the universe is vast, mysterious, and full of possibilities.”

On the evening of 6 February 2025, Delhi Public School, RK Puram, in collaboration with SPACE India, hosted the World’s Largest Planet Parade, marking a historic milestone in school-level astronomy events. The school grounds transformed into a vibrant hub of astronomical exploration as over 800 participants, including 750 enthusiastic students and 60 Astronomy Club members, gathered for an unforgettable celestial experience.

The event was graced by Principal Mr. Anil Kumar, Vice Principals, faculty members, and trained volunteers, all curiously watching the planets align in a breathtaking celestial display. 14 advanced telescopes were set up across the school grounds, allowing attendees to witness Venus, the Moon, Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn in stunning detail. A special highlight was the live feed of the Shiv Shakti Point near the Moon’s south pole, celebrating India’s space exploration legacy.

What set this event apart was its fun-filled and engaging presentation. Complex astronomical concepts were brought to life through storytelling, humor, and interactive visuals, making learning both entertaining and educational. The initiative ensured a hands-on experience where students, teachers, and guests could explore the wonders of the universe in a way that was both immersive and awe-inspiring.

The success of the event was driven by a robust training program for ~70 volunteers and ~50 teachers, ensuring seamless execution. Every person present actively engaged with the telescopic views, watching in wonder and excitement.

Principal Mr. Anil Kumar praised the initiative, stating,

“This event stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation. Our students, teachers, and the SPACE India team have together created a truly remarkable experience that will leave a lasting impact.”

A SPACE India representative added,

“Bringing such an immersive and unprecedented astronomical experience to students reflects a shared commitment to fostering curiosity and inspiring the next generation of space enthusiasts.”

The Planet Parade Event exemplified SPACE India’s mission to make astronomy accessible, engaging, and inspiring for students nationwide. This groundbreaking collaboration with DPS RK Puram has set a new benchmark, encouraging schools and educators to dream big and reach for the stars.
