DIGEX, the Digital Excellence Society, in collaboration with CYBERX, the Cyber Security Club of Delhi Public School R.K.Puram, successfully hosted its annual event DIGEX x CYBERX on 17 May 2025. This eagerly anticipated event celebrating photography, filmmaking, ethical hacking, and digital safety attracted students from 54 schools from across Delhi NCR.
The event featured five diverse competitions including Pixelate Sr., Pixelate Jr., CrADive, Hi-Res, Phishing Phantoms and ReconX; each designed to challenge creativity, technical skills, and cyber awareness. The presence of the distinguished alumni and esteemed judges elevated the experience for all the participants. The halls of the institution echoed with creativity and frenzy as students unveiled their talents.
The details of the competitions held this year’s are as follows:
Pixelate Senior and Junior:This photography team event was divided into junior(classes VI-VIII) and senior(classes IX-XII) categories. Participants had to bring their own cameras and other required accessories,they were given a topic on which they had to take one picture within the school premises.The use of editing software and phone photography was strictly prohibited.The judgement criteria included-creativity, clarity, technical skills and relevance to the topic.The esteemed panel of judges included Dr.Nandini Deb, Ms.Pratishta, and Ms.Faizah for the senior category and Mr.Vansh for junior category.
CreADive: This team event was held for classes VI-XII. Participants were to bring their own filming equipment,the details of the event were disclosed on the spot, the advertisement had to be shot within the school premises. The judgement criteria included -creativity, originality ,relevance to the topic and technical skills. The judges were Mr.Aikagra and Mr.Rahul Harit
Hi-RES: This was an online team event held for classes VI-XII.The topic was disclosed on 3rd May 2025 and the last date for submission of entries was 8th May 2025. The film had to contain a title and a message. It could not be longer than six minutes. Any kind of plagiarism would result in disqualification , any copyrighted material had to be given proper credit. The judgement criteria were-creativity, technical skills, relevance to the topic and clarity.THe judges were Ms.Sana and Mr.Vivaan.
Phishing Phantoms: This team event was held for classes IX-XII. The participants received several pieces of communications during this competition,it could have been real or the result of social engineering techniques. They had to find the misleading material and make a PowerPoint presentation detailing their research and offering solutions.The PowerPoint presentation had to include: identification of the Fake- A clear sign of identity with a complete justification, Analysis of tactics-discussing the particular strategies used in social engineering, Preventive Measures: informing people and organisations about preventative steps they can take to prevent being targets of such assaults.Using artificial intelligence in any way would disqualify the team.Images and designs had to be properly attributed, as should any other copyrighted content. The judgement criteria were-identification accuracy, depth of analysis, clarity and professionalism of Presentation and Preventive Measures. The judges were Mr.Atharva and Mr.Tanush
ReconX: This team event was held for classes IX-XII. Participants were given a target and the task of looking up publicly accessible information about them online by looking for posts, photos, likes, and interactions on social media platforms, among other sites. Participants had to look for recurrent themes, geotags, timings and linkages, personalities, etc. to develop beyond surface level information. Following their study, they will produce a presentation that will include recommendations for privacy protection, a summary of their results, and an explanation of their analytical methodology.Any usage of artificial intelligence will result in the team’s disqualification. The judgement criteria were-identification accuracy, depth of analysis, clarity and professionalism of Presentation and Preventive Measures. The judges were Mr.Agra Imran Husain, Mr.Gyanshu and Ms.Vrinda
The Fest concluded with a captivating photography workshop led by an esteemed school alumnus, Rahul Harit, who offered valuable filmmaking insights and tips. Subsequently an engaging mock parliament session was conducted by Dr. Twinkal Dogra and Mr. Shubham Nayyar. A compelling skit then showcased the essence of liberal arts education and the challenges aspirants face during UPSC preparation.
Representatives from Athena orchestrated an informative workshop on how to secure admission in a prestigious foreign university. A retrospective film showcasing DIGEX society’s journey since 2009 was screened,followed by the launch of the second edition of CIPHER, the annual cybersecurity magazine. The Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar addressed the gathering and praised the teamwork, creativity and discipline that was demonstrated throughout the fest. The Vice Principals: Mr. Naresh Miglani, Mr. Anil Kathuria and Mr. Mukesh Kumar followed with an inspiring and encouraging message for the participants.
The Western Dance Society enthralled the audience with their dynamic performance. Ms. Sarika Kaushal, the Club In-Charge and founder of the society, also addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of dedication and perseverance over mere victory. She commended the sincere efforts of all participants and club members whose hard work contributed immensely to the success of the event. The day concluded on a celebratory note with the much-anticipated award distribution ceremony, honoring the achievements of the participants.
