The Conrad Spirit Of Innovation Challenge was founded by Nancy Conrad in honour of her late husband, astronaut, innovator, and entrepreneur, Charles “Pete” Conrad Jr. The competition is an international, annual, multi-phase innovation and entrepreneurial competition that brings together a dynamic community of innovators and entrepreneurs driving a collaborative movement to develop extraordinary and viable solutions to benefit our world in one of four areas: Aerospace & Aviation, Cyber Technology & Security, Energy & Environment, and Health & Nutrition.
Two students from our school, Shraddha Anand and Abhishek Anand formed a team “Albatross”.The event was held at NASA Kennedy Space Centre, Florida, USA on 9-11 April 2015. They were the only team from India to qualify for the finals and competed against teams from all over the world including countries like USA, Germany, Australia, Bangladesh and Israel. They received the following accolades:
• Winners and Pete Conrad Scholars in “Giant Leap to Mars” category sponsored by SpaceX and NASA
• Finalists and Summit Diplomats in “Aerospace and Aviation” and “Giant Leap to Mars” category
