Shakespeare aptly said, ‘Brevity is the soul of wit.’ Intelligent oration and writing should use few words. An online short story writing competition was organised for the students of class XII on 5 June 2020. Students were provided with online prompts depicting different emotions like anger, happiness, admiration, contempt and envy, to name a few. They were given 20 minutes to write a story with their cameras on, in 40 words. After having completed their story they had to read it out and the judges present evaluated them on their creativity, language and a coherent storyline with a soul. The children enjoyed this competition as they found it extremely challenging to write, given the paucity of time and the limited words.
The result was as follows:
NAME | SECTION | POSITION |
VANSHIKA MATHUR | S | FIRST |
SAHAJ GARG | E | SECOND |
HIYAA PODDAR | U | THIRD |

The children participated in the competition with great enthusiasm and zeal.
