“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” – A. A. Milne
To bid the outgoing batch of 2024 a heartfelt farewell, the students and teachers of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram came together on 7 February 2024 to shower them with best wishes for their lives ahead.
It was an afternoon full of jovial acts, sentimental speeches, and emotional goodbyes.
The dance performances were the highlight of the event, with the students of class XI dancing to a peppy array of seven evergreen songs: Gori Gori, Deewangi Deewangi, Vele, Jhoome Jo Pathaan, Girls Like to Swing, Kajra Re, and Zingaat. The dancers mesmerised the outgoing students of class XII with their vivid choreography on classic, foot-tapping numbers. The dances were followed by scintillating melodies sung by the students of the choir.
For the class XII students, the school bags they carried had never felt as heavy as their hearts on that day, but it was the last fleeting look back at the school’s familiar gates that defined that moment as a stepping stone towards their hopes and dreams. The entire school came together to imprint everlasting memories and remind them of their time at school. The school provided them with the much needed reassurance and support that they would become a partner in their lifelong journey as the students would now become alumni of the school.
The event marked the culmination of the first leg of their journey. It was with mixed emotions and teary eyes that we bid farewell to our beloved batch of 2024 and wished them luck in all their future endeavours as they left to embark on a new journey.
