Class IX Scholar Badge Ceremony 2026

Delhi Public School RK Puram organised the Scholar Badge Ceremony for Class IX on 29 September 2026, celebrating the dedication, perseverance and academic achievements of students who demonstrated a consistent commitment to learning and excellence. 

The school had the privilege of welcoming the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr Harsh Mahajan, Member of the DPS Society. An eminent radiologist and the Founder and Managing Director of Mahajan Imaging, Dr Mahajan is a distinguished medical professional who has been conferred several prestigious awards and accolades, including the Padma Shri in 2002. He has also served as a consultant and advisor to several important national and international organisations, including the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a soulful performance by the Indian Choir. Through a poignant rendition celebrating Nari Shakti and the empowerment of women, the choir created an atmosphere of inspiration and awareness.

This was followed by an address by the Principal, Mr Anil Kumar, who expressed his gratitude to Dr Mahajan for gracing the occasion and sharing his valuable insights with the students. He also extended his appreciation to the parents and students for their presence and congratulated the 356 scholars, constituting nearly 55% of the Class IX batch, on their commendable achievements. Drawing upon a Sanskrit shlok from the Bhagavad Gita, he emphasised the importance of sincerity and sustained effort in achieving meaningful results. He emphasised on three essential pillars of success—passion, hard work and the unwavering commitment to make both an integral part of one’s life.

The programme also featured an Indian folk dance from Gujarat, the Daangi Nritya, celebrating the richness of Indian cultural traditions through vibrant music and movement. The energetic and captivating performance beautifully reflected the spirit and cultural heritage of Gujarat, adding a vibrant dimension to the ceremony.

The much-awaited Scholar Badge Award Distribution Ceremony followed, honouring the deserving students of Class IX for their scholastic and co-scholastic  achievements and overall commitment to excellence. A total of 161 Green Badges, 162 Blue Badges, 107 Red Badges, 40 sports pins , 35 co- curricular pins and 16 Red Ties were presented, along with awards recognising 100% attendance and excellence in sports. Two outstanding all-rounder students were also felicitated with the Armaan Dogra Memorial Award, namely, Naisha Mittal of IX I and Abhinav Sharma of IX D.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, Dr Harsh Mahajan, congratulated the students and emphasised the importance of balancing academic pursuits with personal well-being. He encouraged them to engage in sports and co-curricular activities for holistic development, while also highlighting the importance of preventive healthcare, family bonding and open communication. He concluded by thanking the Principal and remarking warmly that the occasion had made him feel young again. 

The ceremony concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the Headmistress of classes IX-X, Dr Anubha Gopal, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Dr Mahajan, for his gracious presence, to the Principal Mr Anil Kumar, for his visionary leadership, to the Vice Principals: Mr Naresh Miglani, Mr Mukesh Kumar, Mr Anil Kathuria and Ms Rashmi Malhotra for their constant support. She acknowledged and commended  the efforts of the students and teachers and thanked the parents for their presence. The programme concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem,.
