Class IX Scholar Badge Ceremony 2024-2025

Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram hosted the much awaited Class IX Scholar Badge Ceremony 2023-24 on 28 January 2025 in the Audio-Visual Hall  from 11 am onwards to celebrate the academic and co-curricular achievements of the students. 

The event commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by the esteemed Chief Guest, Ms. Vrinda Sarup, Member of the DPS Society, along with the Principal, Mr Anil Kumar; the Vice Principals: Mr Naresh Miglani, Mr Anil Kathuria, Mr Mukesh Kumar and the Headmistress, Ms Rashmi Malhotra.

The programme commenced with a musical extravaganza where the song, ‘Formula 1 theme’ was presented by the Western Instrumental Society. The Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar in his address welcomed the Chief Guest Ms Vrinda Sarup as well as the proud parents of the students receiving the awards by thanking them for gracing the occasion with their presence.He  emphasised on the importance of blessings from elders which has a pivotal role in growth of ‘aayu’ (age), ‘vidhya’ (education), ‘yash’ (success) and ‘bal’ (strength) as well as the significance of recognizing the perseverance and hard work of the students, in achieving the scholar badge.

The address was followed by a soulful rendition of a self composed song by the class IX  students highlighting the strength in rising above adversities and never giving up. 

A short movie, highlighting the school’s achievements, events organised, and the accolades received by the students, international admissions and class assemblies was presented.

 A mesmerizing Mayurbhanj Chhau dance from Orissa was performed by the talented students adorned in traditional attire with intricate jewellry. The rhythmic beats of classical music blended perfectly with the synchronized steps, leaving the audience spellbound.

The much awaited scholar badge ceremony began. A special award The Armaan Dogra Memorial Award’ (awarded to one student from class IX  for all-round excellence) was awarded to Nanya Gupta.Students were awarded Gold medals, Blue and Green badges, and Certificates as a token of appreciation for their hard work over the past year. In total, 213 Blue Badges, 12 Green Badges,62 Red Badges were awarded for their excellence in Co Curricular activities.

Following the award ceremony, was a mention of a special milestone –  the release of the Accountancy, Business Studies and Economics Club Magazines. The magazines are a testament to the creativity, dedication and intellectual depth of students. Under the visionary guidance of our  Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar, our Commerce and Economics Coordinator, Ms. Rashmi Malhotra, and the respective club in-charges, these magazines are a reflection of innovative thinking, critical analysis, and the ability to articulate ideas with clarity and impact.

The Chief Guest, Ms Vrinda Sarup, appreciated the message of never giving up through the song. She highlighted the significance of honing important life skills apart from academics for overall success in life. She also mentioned that the next few years of the students will be their most formative ones for their future. Finally, she congratulated all the Scholar Badge awardees for their dedication and achievement as well as all the students who participated in the music and dance for their excellent  performance. She complimented the school for being not just at the top for so many years but also for grooming the students for the future.

Ms. Rashmi Malhotra, the Head Mistress, proposed  the vote of thanks. She expressed her gratitude towards the Chief Guest Ms. Vrinda Sarup for taking out time to grace the occasion, She also thanked the Principal Mr Anil Kumar for providing a platform like this to showcase the talent of the students and for acknowledging their accomplishments at such a formal ceremony. She also expressed her gratitude towards  the Vice Principals: Mr Naresh Miglani,Mr Anil Kathuria and Mr  Mukesh Kumar along with the teachers and students who had played their part perfectly in successfully organising the ceremony.

The programme ended with the National Anthem.
