DPS, RK Puram was conferred with an Appreciation Award by FSSAI (Food Safety Standards Authority of India) at the National Level for being the ‘Best Performer in the Adoption of SNF@School Program’ and for active and significant participation in the Creativity Challenge.
There were 7000 schools registered under SNF@SchooL Programme.
Mr Pawan Agarwal, IAS, Secretary to Government of India and Chief Executive Officer, FSSAI mentioned that, ‘This is the key milestone in the Eat Right India movement and will continue to inspire all the schools towards adopting SNF@School program across India.’
‘Safe & Nutritious Food at School’ is a nation wide campaign to help school children inculcate the habit of eating safe and eating right by FSSAI.
DPS, RK Puram has been involved in this programme and also participated in the ‘Eat Right Movement -Creativity Challenge’ led by FSSAI.
A team including Mr Mukesh Kumar, Head-Computer Science Department, Ms Niva Chhonkar, Head-Biology Department, Ms Jyoti Sharma and Biology Department teachers organised Interschool Health Festival-‘SNF@School’.
Ms Niva Chhonkar, the SNF@School-Coordinator, has been associated with the programme since its inception and has helped to develop ‘The Yellow Book’, the resource book for this campaign which helps the children learn about the safe and wholesome food in a fun and interactive way through activities. ‘SNF@School’ Facebook Page, Health Activity Calendar along with Digital Posters with messages to say no to ‘HFSS Foods’ to adopt healthy food habits were also designed. She gave her inputs for the Food Safety Testing kit –‘Magic Box’ developed by FSSAI for schools.
