Topic: “JAB CHAI MET TOAST”
“Jab chai met toast, fir duniya became colorful.” Taking inspiration from the homely essence of dipping a rusk in tea, the students of classes XII-H and XII-I put up an entrancing show on the 1st of May, 2024, and reminded all those present of the virtues of simplicity, and most importantly, the unornamented and pure joy of having fun with loved ones- without the looming shadow of technology, or the stresses of everyday life.
The assembly kicked off with a spiritual morning prayer, lead by the principal, followed by an interlude, which was accented by crafty animations, prepared by Atharv. The comperes, Kartavya, Ayaan and Arshia, introduced a soulful and mesmerizing vandana, by Leiasha, Punyakriti and Aanandita, and the momentum of the assembly reached new heights, when an enthralling skit starring Kartavya, Shaurya Dubey, Ishan Prakash, Hardik, Shresth, Shiven, Manya, Aarush, Prakhar, Leiasha, Chaitanya and Jhanavi, conveyed the emotion behind the assembly- the homely connection we have with our surroundings and those whom we cherish. The skit directly transitioned into a well-planned news segment, by Rehaan, Harshit Joshi, Harshit and Vrihad. A skillful instrumental solo by Dev set the mood perfectly for a self composed poem performance, by Siddharth and Aryaa, which perfectly encapsulated the familiar nostalgia of a countryside retreat.
Next up was a western dance performance by Adya, Siddhi, Leiasha, Arshia, Manya, Jhanavi, Hardik, Pratyush Rounaq, Aanandita, Tisya and Jincy who danced on the famous song “Kohl do par”. Subsequently, the Hindi Choir performed by Arika, Minakshi, Advay, Ishaan K, Ananta, Aryaa, Aarush, Edha, Advait, Dev, Gyan, Rahil, Harshit, Arjun and Vivaan , was quite literally music to our ears. A thought for the day presented by Yash, enriched the minds of the viewers, giving them something to think about, and was followed by a self composed poem performance by Ananta and Shrikirti, this time in a language closer to home- Hindi. As the assembly drew closer to a momentous end, the western choir sang a melodious harmony to give it exactly what it needed- a cherry on top.
The assembly board was prepared by Edha, Stanzin, Tisya, Jincy, Surya, Snigdha, Minakshi, Harshit, Naina, the Cards, Folders and Presentation were created by Adya, Siddhi, Pratyush, Aarush, Ananta, Atharv and Abhyudai.
