Topic- Kargil Vijay Diwas
Since 1999, July 26 has been celebrated as the Kargil Vijay Diwas every year to commemorate the victory of Operation Vijay. The day commemorates the success of “Operation Vijay” launched by the Indian Army to recapture the Indian territories from Pakistani intruders in the Kargil-Drass sector in 1999.
Class XI S chose “Kargil Vijay DIwas’ ‘ as the topic for their presentation and paid their respect to the soldiers of the Kargil War as well as the Indian Army through this tribute to their valour and courage. The class presentation commenced with a thought provoking Sanskrit shloka recited by Anwesha Behera. The compere, Samiya Bhatia and Shivansh then greeted the audience with an introduction to the topic.This was followed by a soothing prayer sung by Faina Bhandari and Gauri Verma.Subsequently, a short narration of one of the Kargil War scenes by Chaha Garg, Kanak Sharma, Mahi Agrawal, Muskaan Mathur, Sara Sharma, Tanmay and Myra Vaish was preceded by harmonious western song by Ishana Chaudhary and Ananda Khanna and a hindi song by Anwesha Behera and Mannat Khubchandani. A self composed hindi poem by Aparajita Singh was recited by Vaishnavi Srrivastava and Navya Choudhary. The presentation, which derived input from an interaction with Kargil War veteran, Colonel Pradeep Gupta, ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Diya Rupramka.
