TOPIC: “THE PARAMPARA OF STORYTELLING: PASSING WISDOM THROUGH GENERATIONS, LESSONS FROM THE PAST”
On Tuesday, 12th August 2025, the students of classes VII-I and VII-J presented their class assembly in the A.V.H. on the topic “Guru Shishya Parampara : Cherishing the Eternal Legacy of Wisdom.”
The event commenced with the morning prayer, preceded by an enlightening message from the Headmistress, which inspired the audience with wisdom and encouragement. As the prayer echoed through the hall, a profound sense of learning and gratitude towards our Gurus could be felt in every corner of the A.V.H., touching the hearts of all present—students, teachers, and guests alike.
The programme moved ahead with a DIPSite narrating the concept of DeepSight and elaborating on the DPS Legacy – Gurukul to Global, connecting the ancient culture of storytelling to the practices of the modern generation. This was followed by a beautifully self-composed poem, presented with heartfelt emotion, and an equally inspiring Thought of the Day in Bengali, both of which captivated the audience.
After a dance performance the assembly then progressed to its core segment—a skit showcasing four iconic pairs from India’s ancient Gurukul tradition: Dronacharya and Arjuna-Eklavya, Chanakya and Chandragupta, Gautam Buddha and Ananda, and Swami Vivekananda with his enduring legacy for India and the world. Each portrayal vividly depicted values of dedication, discipline, wisdom, and inspiration. The skit seamlessly transitioned into a modern-day classroom discussion, where DIPSites reflected on their aspirations, people’s views, and the essence of the youth’s pulse in today’s generation. Between the ancient and modern segments, a graceful dance performance added colour and vibrancy to the programme. The skit concluded with a soulful western choir performance that filled the hall with energy and harmony. The assembly concluded on a note of pride and gratitude, leaving the audience inspired to uphold and carry forward the timeless Parampara of storytelling.
