Topic: International Nelson Mandela Day

On the occasion of ‘Nelson Mandela International Day’, the students of class 7F prepared a presentation on Nelson Mandela’s life achievements, his  Anti Apartheid struggle  and his contribution towards justice, peace and dialogue. Nelson Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, statesman and philanthropist who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was the recipient of more than 250 honours—including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993.

Nelson Mandela International Day is celebrated every year on 18 July to commemorate Mandela’s birth Anniversary.The day was officially declared by the United Nations in November 2009.

The class presentation commenced with a beautiful shloka recited by Mrinank Dey along with its English translation. The theme was introduced by Manaal Azhar followed by a melodious prayer by Aadya chhabra. Md Armaan Firdousi and Sanna Sehgal delivered a thought provoking speech . Nandika Sharma presented a quote said by Mandela and explained its meaning as ‘Thought for the Day’.The presentation was carried forward by Keya Srivastava and Aashi Singh who recited a beautiful poem ‘Invictus’.Thereafter, Sannidhi Singh, Tanmaayy Chhabra and Pia Mittal pledged to follow the right path, to be positive and helpful toward others. The vote of thanks was presented by Arnav Khandelwal. The attractive e-invite was created by Agrima Verma. The compilation of audio was done by Uday Veer Singh.
