ECHOES OF STRUGGLE, DREAMS OF PEACE – THE JOURNEY FROM SWARAJ TO SHANTI
The legacy of India’s freedom struggle is not merely a chronicle of sacrifices and historic events; it is a reminder of the values of courage, unity, equality, peace and responsible citizenship. With this spirit in mind, Classes IX K and IX L came together for their Class Assembly on the theme – ‘Echoes of Struggle, Dreams of Peace – The Journey from Swaraj to Shanti’. The assembly sought to take the audience through India’s journey from the aspiration for Swaraj to the enduring dream of Shanti, highlighting the sacrifices of freedom fighters and the values that continue to shape the nation.
The assembly commenced with a soulful prayer presented by Aahana, Akshat, Anuradha, Arnav, Devansh, Inaya, Jiya, Kiyah, Pratyusha, Prisha, Shaurya, Shiven, Vivaan, Priyal, Aayan, Varuni, Aarav, Aryav, Atharv, Avighna, Vedansh and Shiv. This was followed by the Sanskrit Shloka, presented by Anuradha and Shashank, setting a reflective and meaningful tone for the programme.
The Invocation Dance, performed by Navya and Yaalini, brought alive the spirit of strength, devotion and hope. The News Bulletin was presented by Aahana, Syaanbir, Yuvraj and Veer, while the Thoughts for the Day were expressed by Arnav, Anand, Simona, Sravya, Aarja, Prithviraj and Humairah. Aadya Gupta, Simona, Kaira and Pranav recited a self-composed poem, adding a reflective dimension to the theme.
The central attraction of the assembly was the impactful skit, which traced India’s journey from the struggle for Swaraj towards the continuing pursuit of Shanti. The skit was presented by Aadya Bansal, Anshumat, Aryaveer, Ashita, Inaya, Pranav, Sara, Shahzad, Shaurya, Shiven, Shreyan, Syed, Varuni, Viraj, Akshat, Akul, Evaan, Krishiv, Priyanshi, Vansh, Vigya and Arnav. Through powerful dialogues and dramatic situations, the students highlighted the sacrifices of the freedom movement and connected them with the responsibilities of the present generation.
The musical presentations further enriched the programme. The choir, comprising Aahana, Akshat, Anuradha, Devansh, Jiya, Kiyah, Pratyusha, Prisha, Raghav, Shaurya, Shiven, Varuni, Viraj, Priyal, Inaya, Aryan, Aryav, Nivaan, Shiv, Shoaib and Tamanna, presented a stirring musical rendition inculcating patriotic fervour in all present. The musical instruments were played by Priyal, Vedant, Aryaman, Atharv and Vivaan, which created an evocative atmosphere and complemented the thematic progression of the assembly.
The group dance, performed by Aashi, Angel, Aradhya, Pari, Simrat and Vidushi, added grace and visual appeal to the presentation. The choreography reflected the spirit of freedom, unity and hope that formed the central message of the assembly.
The comperes for the programme were Akshat, Anouk, Ashita, Devansh, Harsh, Kiyah, Medha, Prisha, Raghav, Sabir, Sara, Shanaya, Shrey, Siddharth, Aarav, Aryav and Avyukt, who guided the audience seamlessly through the various segments and connected the different presentations to the central theme. The script was written by Pranav and Simona, while the digital presentation was managed by Aadvik, Raghav, Shiva and Shahzad.
The creative and technical aspects of the assembly were also undertaken collaboratively by the students. The invites were designed by Aahana, Priyal, Prisha, Medha and Pratyusha and the e-invite was creatively designed by Anuradha. The soft board and folders were prepared by Aashi, Myra Gupta, Myra Singh, Nivaan, Pragnay, Shanaya, Shanzay, Simrat, Tamanna and Yaalini. The props were managed by Aayan, Harsh, Pratyusha, Shanaya, Shashank, Varuni, Kiyah, Kiera and Jiya, while the audio editing was managed by Shrey, Aadvik, Raghav and Shahzad. The students worked collectively to ensure that the visual, creative and technical aspects of the assembly reflected the journey from struggle to peace.
