In January 2018, a team of students from Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram, comprising of Ananya Ashta, Bhavya Khandelwal, Kushagra Gupta, Mehek Manish Shah, Natasha Arya, Shiv Sethi, Shrijita Anand, Udit Malik and Vinamr Loomba Sachdeva won the Asian Regional Space Settlement Design Competition under the support, guidance and dynamic leadership of the Principal , Ms. Vanita Sehgal. The competition saw participation of schools from different countries including China and Pakistan.
Due to their exceptional performance in the competition, the team has been invited to represent Asia at theInternational Space Settlement Design Competition, which will be held at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, Florida from 27 -31 July 2018. Consequently, the students visited the Honorable Vice President of India, Shri Venkaiah Naidu, who congratulated them for their achievement and wished them luck for the upcoming International Space Settlement Design Competition. He also discussed the importance of innovations in the Aerospace industry and of the scientific research as a whole. The blessings and good wishes from the Vice President will encourage the students to perform well in the finals.
