Geography Awareness Week

17th-21st November 2025

Delhi Public School, RK Puram celebrated Geography Awareness Week from 17th to 21st November 2025 with great enthusiasm and remarkable success under the guidance of Ms. Sangita Bajpai, Coordinator, Department of Geography. 

Geography Awareness Week, first established in 1987 by the National Geographic Society and recognised internationally, highlights the importance of geographic thinking in understanding global issues, spatial patterns, and the interconnectedness of people and places. The 2025 international theme, “Spaces of Possibilities,” provided the conceptual framework for the celebrations. The event was further strengthened by the gracious presence and encouragement of Principal Mr. Anil Kumar, Vice Principals – Mr Miglani, Mr Kathuria, Mr Mukesh Kumar and Ms. Malhotra, Head Mistress Ms. Anubha Gopal, HODs Ms. Vandana Chandok, Ms Ritu Nayyar & teachers from various departments. 

The week kickstarted with Classes VI to VIII participating in an intersection softboard competition on “Geography in our daily lives” and  “Spaces of Possibilities,”

Throughout the week, students engaged in thematic displays and interactive activities.

“Who Am I?” game on cities in India, crossword on Hydroshere, world map tasks based on latitude and longitude, identifying  the geographic wonders challenge. These activities enriched geographical learning, enhanced analytical and mapping skills, and promoted environmental awareness. 

Conducted in the Granite Area of the school, the week concluded with prize distribution and musical elements that added vibrancy to the atmosphere. 

Ms Mahima Goel, Ms Deeksha Gupta, Ms Meera Raghav, Ms Swati Uppal and Ms Divya Kumari ignited the students imagination to create the games and facilitated their smooth execution.
