INTER-DPS NATIONAL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT FOR GIRLS (OPEN) 2025

Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram hosted the Inter-DPS National Football Tournament for Girls (Open) from 30th September to 1st October 2025, witnessing participation from 36 Delhi Public Schools across the country. The tournament embodied a true national spirit, with teams hailing from Jammu and Kashmir in the north to Karnataka in the south, Gujarat in the west to West Bengal in the east.

The opening ceremony, held on 30th September 2025, commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the hoisting of the DPS Flag. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed and felicitated which was followed by an address by the Principal, Shri Anil Kumar. The Chief Guest, Ms Dolly Chanana, Joint Director, DPS Society, inspired the gathering with her motivating words. The oath-taking ceremony, led by the Football Sports Captains, was followed by team introductions and the official declaration of the tournament’s commencement, marked by the release of balloons and the National Anthem.

Over the next two days, 36 exciting matches unfolded, showcasing exceptional skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship among the young players.

The closing ceremony was held on 1st October 2025, beginning with the felicitation of guests and a warm welcome in the auditorium. The event opened with a poetic tribute to courage and athletic spirit, followed by a soulful performance by the Western Choir. Inspiring speeches by the Principal, Mr Anil Kumar and the Guest of Honour, Ms Dolly Chanana, Joint Director, DPS Society, further elevated the spirit of the players.

The highlight of the ceremony was the much-awaited prize distribution ceremony. The ‘Player of the Tournament’ award was presented to Chinmayi of DPS Bangalore East. The second runner-up trophies were awarded to DPS Whitefield Bangalore and DPS R.K. Puram, while DPS Navi Mumbai secured the runner-up position. The champions of the tournament, DPS Bangalore East, lifted the coveted trophy amidst resounding applause.

Thereafter, the Chief Guest, Shri V. K. Shunglu, Chairman of the DPS Society, officially declared the tournament closed. The ceremonial flag was lowered, followed by the vote of thanks which acknowledged the efforts of all the dignitaries, coaches, teachers and participants. The event concluded with the National Anthem, marking an end of three days of discipline, camaraderie and sporting excellence.
