ANNUAL INTER DPS ENVIRONMENT FESTIVAL’ EI ENTORNO’

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, proudly hosted the annual Inter-DPS Environment Festival, ‘El Entorno,’ on August 22nd and 23rd, 2025. The event, held under the guidance of The Delhi Public School Society, brought together over 200 students from 19 DPS schools nationwide to foster a deeper commitment to environmental protection.

The two-day festival was formally inaugurated by Mrs. Reema Dewan, Director of DPS Chandigarh. It featured a series of highly creative and challenging online and onsite competitions, designed to test students’ knowledge of environmental issues and their alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Events included online competitions like “Recreating Nek Chand” (waste art) and “Gene-ius Farming” (e-collage), as well as onsite events such as “Jute Jamboree” (eco calendar creation), “Greenovation” (app making), and “Trash Bots” (puppetry).

The concluding day of the festival was graced by Ms. Anindita Mitra IAS, Administrative Secretary, Higher Education & School Education, Punjab, as the Chief Guest. In her address, she lauded the initiative for effectively bringing environmental concerns to the forefront and encouraged students to translate their awareness into tangible action.

The festival culminated in an awards ceremony where DPS, R.K. Puram, New Delhi, was declared the winner of the coveted overall trophy, demonstrating exceptional performance across the various events. The ‘El Entorno’ festival served as a vibrant platform for students to showcase their creativity and ingenuity in a collective effort to promote a greener and more sustainable future.
