Assembly VII-C & VII-D (21-08-2025)

TOPIC: “THE PARAMPARA OF STORYTELLING: PASSING WISDOM THROUGH GENERATIONS, LESSONS FROM THE PAST”

THE PUPPET

The combined assembly by Classes VII-C and VII-D, under the guidance of their class teachers, Ms. Roopam Maheshwari and Ms Himani Nischal, showcased puppetry, a very famous art form practised by many.

The assembly commenced with a soulful prayer, led by Abhiraj Kumar, Abhishek Chauhan, Abhishek Kumar, Lav Kushwah, Chhand Kumar, Rupam Kumari, Sonam Pandey, Kartik, Parush, Savita Kumari Thakur, Taniya Singh, Anshika, Aryan, Devansh, Dripti, Harsh Kumar, Harshaan Tokas, Naitik Maan, Nuzhat Fatima, Sahil, Saveer Verma, Siddika Khatoon, Sidharth Sejwal, Tanveer Samkriya and Utsav Kumar, setting a serene tone for the event. This was followed by a compelling skit, which was performed by Agastya Gera, Sankriti Mishra, Adiva Dua, Paarth Gaurav Gupta, Areen Nagrath, Kapil Nehchal Ahluwalia, Parthavi Garg, Ranveer Kalra and Rishita Shankar, creatively depicting the encounter of a little girl to a personified puppet in her grandfather’s attic.

The audience was taken into the world of puppets through a beautiful Kathputli dance performed by Manvi Yadav, Anamika, Rudrakshi Kaushal, Aarna Gupta, Myrah Vaishnav and Shagun Rana, blending tradition with artistic expression. The girl then takes the puppets to school, and a performance takes place as a part of class presentations. As a part of the same presentations, an inspiring thought for the day was shared by Srishti Mookerjee, Tanvi Sree Motipalli, Reyansh Sharma and Kavin Agnihotri in four different languages. Rishika Saggar, N. Akshay Kumar, Ahana Gureja, Mohd. Ibrahim Shah presented the news headlines, keeping everyone informed.

A melodious performance by the Western Choir, featuring Sambhav Marwah, Shivaan Jain, Arjun Gupta, Ayati Vatts, Aniket Singh, Meher Dugal Anand, Rahini Prasad, Utkarsh Atulya, Guransh Singh Khurana, Vikrant Singh Rana, Arohi Gogia, Gourisha Kaur Saini, Paridhi Gandhi, Arman Arora, Arush Aggarwal, Deepika Dandapat, Devishi Chowdhary, Pranav Madan, Svaraj Tokas, Trijal Kashyap and Vivvaan Gupta, enriched the assembly with its harmony. The seamless flow of the event was maintained by skilled comperes—Aniket Singh, Arohi Gogia, Rayana Gupta, Shaurya Sabharwal, Syra Aggarwal, Yuvraj Chawla and Lavitt Goenka—who kept the audience engaged.

The creative talents of Rishika Saggar, Arohi Gogia, Syra Aggarwal and Rishita Shankar , Aradhya were reflected in the beautifully designed invitation cards and folders. Shoubhit Ash, Amaira Khurana, Utkarsh Atulya and Vairaj Bhatia also enhanced the event by preparing and presenting a creative presentation that added beauty to the stage at all times. With the dedicated efforts of the students from both the classes and the guidance of their class teachers, the assembly was a well-coordinated and vibrant celebration of puppetry, bringing to light the Parampara of puppetry, which has always been a legacy of DPS RK PURAM.
