Assembly X-I & X-J (15-07-2025)

TOPIC: “HERITAGE AND TRADITIONS THAT SHAPE CHARACTER THROUGH DISCIPLINE AND VALUES: OUR SCHOOL’S CONTRIBUTION TO SOCIETY”

On Tuesday, the 15th of July 2025, the students of Class X-I and X-J presented their class assembly on the topic ‘What we leave behind is woven into the hearts of others’. Their presentation waded back into the mists of time by acknowledging India’s age-old Gurukul system and how it imbibed deep moral and ethical values — those that are phasing out in the futuristic year of 2125 — in its students. This was in a way to recognise the importance of our heritage and values to become successful and inspire others.

The assembly opened with an ardent rendition of the prayer Hamko Mann ki Shakti Dena by Animikha, Ashi, Devaang, Jayati, Jistina, Khadijah, Kiara, Mahikaa, Manha, Naitik, Ranjana, Saisha, Sasha, Sampann, Suhani, Suramya, Himanshi, Trividh, Adit, Alisha, Aishani, Anshuman, Arnav Kumar, Mrinal, Rafaan and Shikkha.

Aarohi, Bhavya, Ritika, Arusha, Anika and Shruti graced the stage with their rhythmically serene Saraswati Vandana, kickstarting the running skit exploring DPS R.K. Puram’s astoundingly rich legacy and the mark Dipsites continue to leave around the globe.

The skit transported the audience to the year 2125 — when books will have become obsolete objects, festivals a lost sentence in the novels of history, prayers will have forfeited all praise, and values reduced to museum artefacts — that is, if museums still exist. After what it took the audience through, the skit left a profound question in the minds of all: “What is progress, if we forget where we began?” Ayush, Govind, Ruhaan, Savya, Zara, Hriman and Hridaan, Achintya, Meisha, Krishna and Saranya captivated the audience with their theatrical skills.

Thereafter, Ayush, Jayati, Rayyan and Saransh delivered the latest developments in India and the world. With a new hope ignited, Reyaa , Samaira and Taneesha delivered mind-provoking thoughts for the day in English, Hindi and French. Animikha, Ashi, Himanshi, Jayati , Jistina, Khadijah, Mananya, Manha, Mahikaa, Kiara, Sasha, Suramya, Ranjana, Ayush, Devaang, Krishna, Trividh, Vihaan, Saisha, Kaari, Aishani, Misha, Naintara and Shikkha took on their instruments and mics and serenaded the crowd with a mellifluous performance of Hall of Fame and Imagine. Aarohi, Ritika, Arusha, Anika and Shruti then wove melody and movement together to put up a seraphic dance performance of Fireworks -a joyful celebration through the rhythmic movement of Western Dance.

Nearing the end of their spectacle, the students invited the Headmistress to address the gathering and share pearls of wisdom. The presentation finally concluded with the recital of the School Anthem and the National Anthem — a fitting bookend to the deeply reflective morning. Invitations, folders, e-invites and presentations — encapsulating art and creative expression that continues to tantalise the human mind — were crafted by Aakriti, Aarav, Ashi, Koel, Reyaa, Geet, Jayati, Khadijah, Mahikaa, Mananya, Samaira, Suramya, Devaang, Guneet, Aura, Aliya and Alisha.
