TOPIC – “ONE DAY OR DAY ONE”

We all speak of a better future as something that we highly anticipate. The “better tomorrow” that we patiently await. We speak of where we see ourselves in one, five or ten years. We make plans. We have goals. But how many of us can really say that they are working towards this better future?

The class presentation commenced by invoking the name of God through the prayer -“Jeevan Tumne Diya Hai, Sambhaloge Tum” performed by Sneha Pandey, Kanishka Verma, Aditya Prakash Singh, Khushal Bajaj, Divyalaksh Baisoya, Manishka Asrani, Krishal Sharma, Nazia Amin, Kashvi Aggarwal, Saumya Srivastava, Adit Verma, Tanya, Nikita, and Prithvi Raghu.

Following the prayer Kanishka Verma, Arth Agarwal, Aboli Arora, Vaibhav, Krishal Sharma, Ujjwal Tiwari, Gaurav, Aryan Kumar, Shubhag Tripathi, Tejas Agarwal, Aryan Gupta, Reejoul Sharma, Chinmay Sharma and Nikita performed a skit which was inspired by the legends of Mahabharat and Ramayana with an outlook inculcating the characters as thoughts of our own. Within the skit, Nazia Amin, Kashvi Aggarwal and Saumya Srivastava performed the Shiva Vandana, the Thought for the day was presented by Shivesht Sharma and Vishal Balaji followed by the News by Gaurav, Madhav Gupta, Smriti Srivastava and Aviral Varshney. The rap was performed by Kushagara Goel and the melodious instrumental performance was given by Jia Vohra and Akshit Bakshi. The skit ended with speeches by Ananya Negi, Tanya, Divyalaksh Baisoya and Akshatt Chauhan.

After the skit, the western choir consisting of Adit Verma, Kashvi Aggarwal, Tanya, Nazia Amin, Krishal Sharma, Kushagra Goel, Chinmay Sharma, Aahant Kumar, Manishka Asrani, Kanishka Verma, Khushal Bajaj, Divyalaksh Baisoya and Saumya Srivastava sang the song “Firework” and gave a powerful and mesmerising performance. After that, Chinmaya performed a self-composed poem on procrastination titled “Jo Vakt Kho Jaye “.

The comperes were Nethra Lawania, Aditya Tiwari and Samaira Mohapatra. The eye-catching board artwork was made by Tanya, Manvi Segan, Pearl Wadhwa, Amya Rastogi and Aarushi Chandak. The beautiful invites and folders were made by Kashvi Aggarwal, Smriti Srivastava and Soumya Singh and the entire presentation and E-invites were made by Garv Jain and Yash Sehgal .

Finally, the entire gathering together sang the melodious School Anthem followed by the National Anthem.

Soaring to the Summits of Success

Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha (MVPP) Examination, conducted by the Science Branch of the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi was held on 22nd January, 2023.

The objective of this examination was to identify brilliant students with high intellect of Class IX and recognize their scientific aptitude by awarding a scholarship and a certificate to them.

Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram fosters a rich blend of holistic and futuristic education. 143 students took the exam and 58 students aced it with flying colors. Their spectacular performance in MVPP has added feathers to the achievement tally of the school. H. Jatin Vikash (IX E) has bagged the All India First Position making the school proud with his meritorious achievement.

Sushant Kumar Agarwal (IX B) and Akshat Jain (IX K) bagged the Third and Fourth ranks respectively thereby proving that DPS R.K Puram students are second to none.

Weekly Test Rescheduled

This is for the information of all students and teachers that the weekly test scheduled for today i.e. 10/07/2023 (Monday) will be held tomorrow i.e. 11/07/2023 (Tuesday) and Monday’s Time Table will be followed tomorrow.

Declaring 10th July 2023 Monday as Holiday for Students

This has reference to the DOE Circular No. PS/DE/2023/227 dated 09.07.2023 regarding declaration of Holiday on Monday,10th July, 2023 for students.

In this regard, it is hereby informed that Delhi Public School R.K Puram, East of Kailash and Vasant Vihar will remain closed on Monday 10th July, 2023 for the students

However, it will remain open for the staff members. The teachers shall come to school by 8:30 a.m. and Non-Teaching Staff shall reach by 8:00 am.

All students, teaching and non-teaching are informed to make a note of the above accordingly.

KAMP NASTA 2022-23

KAMP hosted its certificate distribution ceremony for NASTA 2022-23 on 7th July 2023 at Delhi Public School, RK Puram. The Knowledge And Awareness Mapping Programme “KAMP” is an international intellect E-based assessment platform of 21st century skills, awareness and knowledge for science, technology and humanities among students. It is an initiative and knowledge alliance of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) – National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research and industrial partners M/S Nysa Communications Pvt. Ltd. (NCPL) and it intends to develop creativity, reading and thinking skills that bring out the inherent abilities of the students.

Prior to the commencement of the award distribution, the Principal Ms Padma Srinivasan addressed the gathering. She  welcomed the chief guests Mr  Ashish Mittal, the Project director for KAMP, Ms. Arika Mathur, the Operation head, Mr. Dhiraj Singh Rajput, the Regional head for Delhi, and Mr. Kushal Payal, the Regional manager. She encouraged the students to participate in such events in  the coming years.

The Project Director congratulated the awardees and by his speech inspired the students to explore, nurture and apply their skills. The guests presented the awards to:

The school  received an award of appreciation from KAMP for being a part of NASTA-22. Ms Rashmi Malhotra, the Headmistress proposed the vote of thanks .The award distribution ceremony concluded with the national anthem.

STAFF MEETING CUM WORKSHOP ON NATIONAL CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK 2023

A staff meeting cum workshop on National Curriculum Framework 2023 was conducted on 1 July 2023 at Delhi Public School RK Puram. It was attended by the  teachers from DPS RK Puram,East of Kailash and Vasant Vihar. The NCF is set to be implemented from 2024 and the education ministry has invited comments and suggestions on the draft. The committee to frame it was chaired by scientist K Kasturirangan.

The meeting began by invoking the blessings of the almighty by a prayer. This was followed by the Principal Ms Padma Srinivasan addressing the gathering and sharing the National Curriculum Framework with the teachers with a Powerpoint Presentation. She emphasised on the importance of being a part of this great endeavour right at the inception stage so that valuable additions can be made to the Education system.

She also said that NCF 2023 proposes to completely change the education system, claiming that the new design will enable breadth in Grades 9-10 through a broad spectrum of courses across streams, and depth in Grades 11-12 in certain areas according to students’ choice.NCF is aimed to develop a sense of self-reliance and dignity of the individual which would for the basis of social relationship and would develop a sense of nonviolence and oneness across the society. To develop a child centred approach and to promote universal enrollment and retention up to the age of 14.The NCF guiding principles aim to promote a holistic, inclusive, and skill-based education system. These principles contribute to the foundation of the NCF and guide the development of education policies and practices in India.

The workshop concluded by the Vice Principals Mr Naresh Miglani,Mr Anil Kathuria ,Mr Mukesh Kumar and Ms Rashmi Malhotra Headmistress Classes IX and X  addressing the teachers and speaking about the importance of the role of teachers in a student’s life. This was followed by brunch for the teachers.Meetings were conducted by the department heads for their respective departments and by the vice principals for the class teachers of all the Classes.
