An Interactive Session on ‘Stress: A Physical and Psychological Disorder’ was organized in the first session on 15 September 2017 in the AVH. The Principal Ms Vanita Sehgal welcomed Dr Viveka Kumar Senior Director-Cath Lab and senior Consultant Interventional Cardiology, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket with a small token of regard. Dr Kumar conducted the session from 8 – 9 am and apprised the teachers about the various stress related disorders that one must guard against. He laid emphasis on maintaining a healthy lifestyle to avoid high cholesterol and high triglycerides leading to frequent heart attacks in the most productive years of one’s life. The teachers clarified their fears and apprehensions about various heart conditions. The workshop culminated with a vote of thanks by the Vice Principal Ms. Padma Srinivasan.
An Interactive Session on ‘Bone, Joint and Muscle Care for Teachers’ was conducted by Dr Prateek Kumar Gupta, Senior Orthopaedic Consultant at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital,an ex alumni of DPS R.K.Puram.
The session was conducted from 10-11 am. He was welcomed by the Vice Principal, Mrs Renu Nayar with a token of appreciation. He informed the teachers about various causes of bone related diseases and the corrective measures like a good posture and regular check-ups to be undertaken to avoid the risk of the onset of osteoporosis and arthritis. The teachers asked him various queries and he satisfactorily answered the same. He concluded the session with stressing on the importance of Vit D and Calcium in the diets. The vote of thanks was given by the Vice Principal Ms Padma Srinivasan.
The sessions were very informative and eye openers for the faculty members.
