VISIT TO THE MEHRAULI ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK AND LODI PERIOD BAOLI-TOMBS

The Digex Club and the History Society of DPS, R.K. Puram organised a Heritage cum Photo Walk to the Mehrauli Archaeological Park and a Baoli – Tombs dating back to Lodi period in sector 5 of R.K. Puram on 28th December 2015. A select group of 26 students from classes IX to XI were accompanied by Ms. Sarika Kaushal and Ms Shaloo Khanna.

At Mehrauli they visited Quli Khan’s tomb/ Metcalf’s Guest house, Jamali- Kamali tomb – mosque, Balban’s tomb, Rajon ki baoli. Students also saw ruins of a residential colony dating back to the Lodi period.

The group also visited a Baoli- Tombs dating back to the Lodi period in Sector -5, R.K.Puram. This monument has been adopted by DPS, R. K. Puram. 5 tombs at the site are of unknown people. Students- artists made sketches of the baoli.

Mr. Nitish, an official with Canon, accompanied the group and gave Digex club members hands on training on how to use a camera. Students clicked lots of pictures at both the sites.
