Students of Class VIII, sections A to K visited the Swaminarayan Akshardham temple complex on 29th December 2016.
They were accompanied by the class representatives, Ms. Reema Khosla and Ms. Surbhi Gupta and, the class teachers Ms. Pritha, Ms. Ekta, Ms. Aarti, Ms. Sanjukta, Mr. Aditya S., Ms. Aastha, Mr. Sushil, Ms. Deepti, Ms. P. Chinna, Ms. Shruti G., Ms. Renu B., Ms. Anju K. and Ms. Meenu S. 6 buses were used to transport the students to and fro from the complex.
The visit included a short introductory address by the governing body of the temple, followed by a boat ride depicting the rich hierarchy of Indian heritage. This was followed by a robotic show depicting the life of Shri Swaminarayan.
A few students also visited the temple.
The boat ride down the ages was the highlight of the visit. The students were in awe of the architecture of the complex and the depiction of the values to be ingrained to become a fine human being, using surreal figurines, animals and plants.
The trip was fun and enlightening too.
