Visit of the Additional Solicitor General of India

Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram had the privilege of a visit by the Additional Solicitor General of India for the Supreme Court of India, Mr.Sidharth Luthra on 29 April 2014. An alumnus of the school, Mr. Luthra has twenty three year’s experience in Litigation(both Original as well as Appellate) dealing with economic offenses including Intellectual Property law, Information technology law, indirect taxation, Revenue, Corruption laws, medical education, policy and administrative laws.

The Principal, Dr.D.R.Saini extended a warm welcome on his arrival. Mr.Luthra addressed the students of classes eleven and twelve, especially those pursuing legal studies in the school. A powerful orator, Mr.Luthra enthralled the audience with his anecdotes about his life, his years as a student pursuing law and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Delhi University to his time in the University of Cambridge where he did M.Phil in Criminology. He touched on some of the interesting cases he handled over the years. He stressed on the importance of the ethics and morals of law. His sense of commitment and his passion for law was truly an inspiration for all the students planning to take up law as a career.
