Two students of the Expressions Theatre Club of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram, Prakshi Gambhir (XII) and Aryan Agarwal (XI), visited The University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba, Australia along with their teacher in-charge, Ms. Sudeepta Chatterjee, from 15 -21 October 2017. The students participated in The Advance To Australia- India Schools Video Making Competition 2016-2017 organized by Austrade and won the first prize, which was an all-expense paid educational trip to Australia. They were also given a scholarship of 4000 AUD to pursue further studies at the University.
They were given the opportunity to visit the two campuses of the University- one in Toowoomba and the other in Ipswich. They met with many professors from diverse academic backgrounds including Construction Management, Nursing, Aviation Operations et al, who gave them an insight into the different undergraduate courses being offered. The University also organized a sightseeing tour that included, a visit to the city of Brisbane and to the Gold Coast, where they were taken to the Warner Bros. Movie World. Prakshi and Aryan were also part of a video shoot in which they were interviewed about their trip to Australia and their future career plans. A photo shoot was also conducted on campus for marketing purposes. The experience was not only fruitful but also very enjoyable, giving them a taste of Australian life and culture.
