The Advance to Australia, ‘A2Oz’, 2016-2017

The students of the Expressions Theatre Club of Delhi Public School R.K. Puram participated in The Advance to Australia, ‘A2Oz’- India Schools Video Competition 2016-2017. Prakshi Gambhir (XII) and Aryan Agarwal (XI) were adjudged the National winners under the category ‘Construction Management’. They won an all expense paid study trip to the University of Southern Queensland in Australia. They were also awarded a study scholarship of 4000 AUD each by the university. The second team comprising of Nikunj Taneja (XII) and Harshini Misra (XI) were one of the three finalists chosen under the category ‘Nanotechnology’ and were awarded with certificates and blue-tooth speakers by the RMIT University, Melbourne.

The winners were accompanied by the Teacher In-charge, Ms. Sudeepta Chatterjee to the Australian High Commission in New Delhi, where they were felicitated at the award ceremony held on the 10th of April 2017. They were also invited to the Taj Palace Hotel where they had the opportunity of meeting and interacting with the Australian Prime Minister, the Hon Malcolm Turnbull, MP and Senator, the Hon Simon Birmingham, MP and Minister for Education and Training, Australian Government. They also had the opportunity of meeting Shri Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram, competed against 325 other schools across the country to win this competiton. The winners of this competiton will feature in National and International publicity campaigns by both Cambridge English Language Assessment and the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade). The winning video will also be promoted through social media by Cambridge English and Austrade.
