The Exchange Programme with Lycée St. Ambroise in Chambéry, France started in 2007. This year, the fourth French exchange programme with Lycée St. Ambroise, Chambéry, concluded successfully.
A total of 24 Indian students of Classes 10 and 11 accompanied by 2 teachers: Vice Principal, Ms. Padma Srinivasan, and French Language Teacher, Mr. Vaibhav Popli, visited Lycée St. Ambroise in Chambéry from 28 April to 6 May 2018. They stayed with their French counterparts who showed hospitality par excellence. This stay gave them the opportunity to learn and experience the nuances of French culture and language. Upon their arrival in Lycée, Principal, Mr Laurent Coiret, welcomed them and took them to a small school tour with Mr Pierre Guillot. They learnt about the French school system. They also visited Chambéry City Centre, Annecy, Lyon and some famous lakes of the Savoie region.
On 3 May 2018, the school hosted the cultural evening in the lycée. Both Indian and as well as French students showcased their talents. All the performances were highly appreciated by the French families and teachers. The Indian students also cooked some traditional Indian dishes for the French families.
This exchange was a bridge between two different cultures and gave the students excellent opportunity to use their French language skills with natives and to learn the French culture.
Indian students along with their accompanying teachers spent last few days of the program in Paris. Louvre Museum, Eiffel Tower, Sacré-Coeur, Chateau de Versailles etc. were some of the sites visited by them. This was to give them the essence of the rich French architecture and glorious history.
