Storytelling is a fine art, bringing to life the characters of a story and enthralling the listeners. A total of 45 German learners of Class 8 from DPS, R.K.Puram had the privilege of attending a performance by Swiss author and storyteller, Ms. Brigitte Schär in the school on 9 February 2018. The visit was co-ordinated by the Goethe Institute and the DPS Society.
Ms. Brigitte Schär has authored several books in her thirty years career as a writer and her books have been translated into different languages. She seeks to link her literary work to theatrical “reading-performances” and “concert-readings” for both adults and children. She has a good stage presence and connects easily with children and other audiences. The students were spell bound as Ms Schär recited poems, sang and told stories.
She was accompanied by Ms Vibhuti Sukhramani, Project Manager at the Goethe Institute and Ms Maitreyee Shirolkar, Programme Officer for Culture & Public Diplomacy at the Consulate General of Switzerland.
Ms Anita Singh, Vice Principal and Head of Department, Foreign languages proposed the vote of thanks.
