Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram hosted the Scholar Badge Ceremony of Class XI (Sections A-E & M-T) on 7th December 2016. The students excitedly look forward to this event where meritorious students, both in the fields of academics as well as extracurricular activities are felicitated on stage.
The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and the scintillating performance by the school orchestra highlighting the richness of Indian culture. Then a film highlighting the school’s achievements in academics, extra-curricular activities and sports was played. The Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal welcomed the parents. She acknowledged the hard work of parents and teachers in shaping a child’s life. She reiterated that the school has a wonderful past and is always striving hard to uphold its motto of “Service before Self” in the true sense. She congratulated and thanked all the ‘achievers’ for bringing laurels to the school and making it the ‘Best School’ in the nation. The Vice Principals, Dr. Renu Nayar, Ms. Padma Srinivasan and Mrs. Anita Singh, and the Headmistress, Mrs. Rashmi Malhotra also graced the occasion with their presence.
In the cultural program, students expressed their inspiring thoughts giving a message of “Service before Self”. This was followed by a dance performance which showcased the real meaning of life . The school choir also performed a moving melody stressing upon the value of self-confidence.
The class representative, Mrs. Abha Chona conducted the Award Distribution ceremony. The Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal and the Vice Principals, Dr. Renu Nayar and Ms. Padma Srinivasan presented the gold medals, scholar badges, blazers and certificates to the worthy students for their continuous academic and extracurricular excellence.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Padma Srinivasan, who congratulated all the students and parents. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
