Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram hosted the Scholar Badge Ceremony of Class VIII (Sections A-F) on the 6th of December 2016. The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. Poonam Verma, Principal, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies.
The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and the Chief Guest was welcomed with a scintillating classical composition performed by the school orchestra. Following the felicitation of the Chief Guest, a video highlighting the school’s achievements in academics, extracurricular activities and sports was shown. The Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal welcomed the chief guest and the parents. Addressing the students, she highlighted the rich cultural heritage of our country and stressed on the fact that our continuously discovering and reinventing ourselves is the pillar of our strength. She also shared the news of the school being ranked Number 1 all over India by Education Today, with everyone. The cultural program saw the students performing a mesmerizing fusion song, a recitation and dazzling dances. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Poonam Verma congratulated the students and shared various anecdotes of her life with them.
The class representative, Ms. Reema Khosla, conducted the Award Distribution ceremony. The Chief Guest, Dr Poonam Verma; the Principal, Ms Vanita Sehgal and the Headmistress, Ms Rashmi Malhotra, presented the badges, blazers and certificates to the worthy students for continuous academic and extra-curricular excellence.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms Rashmi Malhotra, who congratulated all the students. She also thanked the Chief Guest for gracing the occasion and for her words of wisdom. The Principal appreciated the efforts of the teachers and all those present. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem.
