SCHOLAR BADGE CEREMONY OF CLASS IX- SECTIONS H-M

The scholar badge ceremony of class IX – Sections H-M for the academic year 2014-2015 was held on 18th February 2016. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The Chief Guest was Professor B.P. Khandelwal, Member of the DPS Society and DPS R.K. Puram Managing Committee and the Guest of Honour was Mr. Mukesh Singh, IPS, Deputy Inspector General at the National Investigation Agency. A special guest Dr.P.N.Dogra, Head of the Department of Urology at AIIMS also graced the occasion.

The school orchestra welcomed the guests with a beautiful performance. The Principal, Dr. D. R. Saini felicitated the chief guest with a token of appreciation. The annual progress report of the school, showing the various achievements of the school was presented in the form of a Power Point Presentation. The Principal fondly recalled the days when Mr. Mukesh Singh was a student residing in the school hostel. He exhorted the students to work with complete dedication.

The cultural programme was based on the quote, ‘The only thing you have to fear is fear itself’ by Franklin D. Roosevelt. It comprised a song and a mesmerizing dance performance which spread the message that a tiny speck of light can go on to illuminate the world.

The Guest of Honour, Mr. Mukesh Singh addressed the gathering and shared his experiences in the school hostel. He also expressed his gratitude to the Principal, for inculcating in him a sense of discipline. In his address, the Chief Guest, Professor B.P. Khandelwal applauded the performers and emphasized on the need to be sensitive towards others and to strive for perfection.

The award ceremony began with the Armaan Dogra Memorial Best All- Rounder Award which was given to Shreya Goel of IX-L. The ceremony was conducted by Ms. Taruna Didi, the Representative of class IX. The Chief Guest, Professor B.P. Khandelwal, the guests, Mr. Mukesh Singh and Dr. Dogra, the Principal, Dr. D.R. Saini and the Vice Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal felicitated the students.

The Vice Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal proposed the vote of thanks and congratulated the students. She stressed on the need for parents to instill confidence in their children. She urged students not to be afraid to tread the unbeaten path. The programme ended with the national anthem.
