Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram hosted the Scholar Badge Ceremony of Class VII (Sections G-K) on 8th December 2016. The Scholar Badge Ceremony is the most awaited event for the students as they receive acknowledgement for their academic and extracurricular excellence. The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. R.P.Rustagi, Principal of Shri Ram College of Commerce.
The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and the mesmerising classical composition performed by the school orchestra. Following the felicitation of the chief guest, a film highlighting the school’s achievements in academics, extracurricular activities and sports was shown.
The Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal welcomed the chief guest and parents. Congratulating the students for their achievements, she thanked the parents, teachers and students for helping the school achieve the ‘Best School’ award. She further reiterated that the doors for suggestions were always open, to make the school best in not just the nation, but the world. The cultural program saw students of the grade in the choir performance, followed by a play and yoga performance, highlighting the splendour that India is. A captivating fusion on the various dance forms of India was also presented.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rustagi congratulated the students for their achievements and commended them for the beautiful cultural presentation. He emphasised the importance of a sense of responsibility and discipline in all walks of life, and urged the students to go for higher targets each time.
The class representative, Ms. Surabhi Gupta, conducted the Award Distribution ceremony. The Chief Guest, Dr. Rustagi, the Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal and the Head mistress, Ms. Rashmi Malhotra, presented the badges, blazers and certificates to the worthy students.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Rashmi Malhotra, who thanked the Principal for her vision and the parents for their continuous support. She expressed her gratitude to all the teachers involved in making the ceremony a success. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
