Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram hosted the Scholar Badge Ceremony of Class VII (Sections A-F) on 15th December 2016. The students excitedly look forward to this event where meritorious students, both in the fields of academics as well as extracurricular are felicitated on stage.
The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and a melodious performance by the school orchestra highlighting the richness of Indian culture. The chief guest for the event was Ms. Sharmistha Mukherjee, a dancer and a choreographer. The Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal felicitated the chief guest. A film highlighting the school’s achievements in academics, extracurricular, and sports was played. The Principal warmly welcomed the parents. She asked the students to, “ learn the importance of tolerance in life if they wish to walk on the way to success.” The Vice Principals, Dr. Renu Nayar and Mrs.Anita Singh and the Headmistress, Mrs. Rashmi Malhotra were present on the occasion .
The chief guest addressed the gathering and emphasised on the fact that, “as one grows up with privileges, one should know that there are many who also deserve a better life. So, one must pick up a cause and work to improve it.” She also talked about the importance of tolerance in society. The cultural event included a group song by the choir . It was followed by a beautiful skit showcasing the diversity of India.
The class representative, Ms.Sapna Sharma conducted the Award Distribution ceremony. The Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal along with the chief guest presented the students with the respective awards.
The vote of thanks was delivered by the Headmistress, Ms. Rashmi Malhotra, who congratulated all the students and parents. She thanked the chief guest for making the occasion memorable and the Principal for always supporting the teachers and the students. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
