The scholar badge ceremony for class 9 (sections A-G)was organized on 6 December 2013. The chief guest for the occasion was Prof. G.K. Chadha, President of the South Asian University, New Delhi. The Principal, Dr.D.R.Saini; Vice Principal,Mrs.Shobha Mehta; and Headmisresses, Ms.Vanita Sehgal and Mrs Anita Singh were also present.
The ceremony commenced with an invigorating dance performed to a medley of moving songs by the students of DPS Shiksha Kendra. This was followed by a short film describing the school’s numerous accomplishments in both academics and extra- curricular activities. Next, the Principal, Dr. Saini gave the welcome address, in which he congratulated the awardees and thanked the parents and teachers for their unconditional support and guidance. He also expressed his confidence in the potential of the students and encouraged them to imbibe the motto of ‘Service- before- Self’. A musical titled ‘Life is what you make of it’, was presented by the students of class nine. The musical imparted the importance of believing in oneself and realizing that your destiny lies in your own hands.
The chief guest congratulated the awardees and stressed on the importance of a continued effort towards the cultivation of knowledge. Finally, the awards were handed out to the scholars amidst thundering applause by the audience of proud parents and teachers.
